Considering flying in and out of this airport and wondering what the drive is like on a Wednesday am. We have an 11:30 flight that we are looking at. We do not plan to spend our time in San Diego, but in Anaheim and a couple days in Hollywood. We have been to San Diego before and want to do other things. Last time we flew in and out of LAX due to price.

It's a long drive. Lax is much closer. You should give yourself at least two hours, possibly more.

It would take about 2 hours to drive to Anaheim. It's about 90 miles. Have you considered John Wayne or ontario airports both are less than a half hour.

San Diego is a little far but you won't hit much traffic and its easy to get in and out of.

Yes, we looked at all in the area and the San Diego one had the best price for us.

Burbank? It's closer to Hollywood. Consider taking a train if coming up from SD. Amtrak is a block or two (<2 miles) walking from terminal, and it gets you closer to Anaheim to get cheaper car rental in la. Otherwise you are looking at a 90 minute to two hour drive. Get in the carpool lane near Dana point and there is an off ramp for Disney from it. Less stress for dealing with traffic.

I would not do this; it's not worth fighting the traffic from SD to Anaheim. I agree that John Wayne or LAX are much better choices.
