San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel

Looking for family friendly (and affordable) hotel near the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Thanks,

We went to San Antonio last February and stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel. It was right on the Riverwalk, plus it had a free hot breakfast buffet every morning (eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc) and a free "kickback" every night which featured hotdogs, baked potatoes, chicken fingers, soup, salad, etc (not all items were featured every night, but there was plenty for a quick dinner if you had a big lunch). We thought it was very affordable because we ate breakfast at the hotel, had a nice sit down lunch, then when (if) we were hungry later, we ate a quick meal at the hotel again. At the time we got a deal for $99 a night, but I don't think that particular deal is going on at the moment.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk last summer and loved it! Made to order breakfast, evening snacks and drinks, and very nice-and very reasonable if you book far enough out. We had extended family there and we all enjoyed it, from babies to 80 year olds. And it was nice having a suite to spread out in, as every room has a separate living area with a sleeper sofa and the bedroom. It is a fun place, have a great trip!

Another vote for Drury Inn. Great location.

Another vote for the Drury. We stayed there in the spring of '10, and it was the best hotel we stayed at on our Texas three-city split-stay. You cannot beat the location, they have one of the best breakfasts in the hotel business, free soda and popcorn all day, and evening "kickback"--which can easily be a meal for your family. My family loved the San Antonio Drury so much that the Drury became our go-to hotel for non-Disney stays.
