i changed my PS from san angel to lecellier. i heard the san angel can be cramped seating with expensive so so food..i wanted to try the place for the ambience (reminds me of blue bayou) can we go and just order drinks and munchies???

Get a Margaritta, nachos or any entree to split right by the water. There is no problem of not getting a full meal - great place to enjoy.

I decided to torture myself and try the margarita there again last night - ugh, they're horrible. They use a mix and it's incredibly artificial tasting. I had to ask for an entire lime to squeeze into it to make it drinkable.

Also, the appetizers are very small and fairly pricy for the portion size. The nachos may have changed since we last had them, but we received 8 chips with a little topping on each. And the queso fundido is a joke.

(Mexican food snob :) )

I agree about the margaritas at San Angel - just get a fiesta margarita outside before you go in and stick with the dos equis beer inside instead (sure beats that horrible corona stuff).

I think those are just as bad :crazy2: I convinced one of my friends to try one a year ago, and she still yells at me about it.

The classic margaritas at Maya Grill are fantastic, though. Served shaken, straight up.

Forever42, at least the fiesta's have decent amount of tequila (which the one's inside do not)...but if you're a purist and prefer to drink them on the rocks I can agree with you...
