I was just looking at the new updated menu for San Angel on AllEars and I don't like it. I know I was one of the few that probably liked this place after reading peoples reviews but now I don't know if I want to go back. Nothing on the updated menu even looks good to me. I guess it is back to more planning and reading menus to possibly find a replacement. DH is pretty picky so it doesn't leave us much options but he did like his meal here.

Unless I am not remembering what all was on there it sure looks like they changed it up a lot.

It does look like they've changed the menu. What did they remove that you liked? Maybe, they could still make it for you. The menu actually looks better to me now, but I can see why everyone wouldn't think so. They really need to improve the dessert menu though. None of them look tempting to me.

I had some kind of combination plate. Don't really remember what it had on there. I agree with you on the desserts though. I didn't like any of them either.

DH have in the past really enjoyed San Angel and its been on our "must-do" list consistently. We made ADR's here for the first night of our trip a few weeks ago. After we got the chips, we read the menu and were unable to find anything either of us was interested in so we got our margaritas in a to-go cup, paid our bill and left. I am an rather adventursome (sp???) eater and am always into trying something new. This menu though left me without nothing I was even remotely interested in. Maybe the lunch menu has more to offer then dinner, but we won't be back until things change.

We ate there on 10/23 and loved it! I had the Pollo a las Rojas (I think that was the name) and my DH had the filet, can't remember the name. Never was there to experience the old menu but I would definitely go back.

The dessert that we had is not listed on the allears menu so I don't remember the name. It was the first one listed on the dessert menu and was a white chocolate mousse with fresh berries in a phyllo dough cup. YUM!

Oh wow, you've made my night. :cool1: We booked a CP package @ SAI out of desperation, & I've been calling every day (sometimes twice a day) trying to get something else. We liked the entrees there. It's the appys & desserts that have us looking elsewhere. With the new menu & this dessert, it sounds great to me now. I think I can finally quit stalking Disney Dining. :yay: Hopefully, this dessert is a permanent addition to the menu.

Hmm... I think the new menu looks more tempting than the old one. The desserts are the only thing I'm not interested in. The white chocolate mousse sounds good though. :goodvibes

I really really wanted to like this new menu, this was the only sit down dinner that we were planning on having and I tryed to find something of interest but alas nothing looks any good to me for the money, even the taco's that were pictures above didn't look worth 16.00. Sadly, I just can't justify the money.

UGH, I noticed that too. There really isn't anything on the menu I want. I'm not very adventurous with Mexican food and I hate onions. The only thing I can think of is to order something without certain ingredients, if they can do that. I'm bummed because I wanted to try that shrimp pasta dish with the red sauce. Oh well.:confused3

Looked at menu and it sounds enticing. DW and DS always liked San Angel, but DD and me were getting a bit stale on it. Looking forward to giving it another go in Dec.

Hubby and I were there 2 weeks ago and he didn't like it at all. I thought it was great. Appetizers were tostados de jaiba (real crab salad on tortillas) excellent. Ensalada de la casa (cheese and churrizo in a fried corn tortilla) YUMMM. His beef tenderloin was dry and overcooked, my shrimp enchiladas were awesome.
I do miss the old menu, there was a appetizer I always got and I miss it. Oh well.

Hmmm... I think the new menu looks a lot better than the old one. We are going to try SAI for the first time on our upcoming trip, it just never looked appealing before. But, we are going for lunch, and I think the lunch menu looks a little better than the dinner menu. Plus, I've seen quite a few good reviews since the menu change and I didn't see so many before, so I have high hopes.

I just checked it out...at least the Filete Motuleno is still on there for dinner. We love that dish, it is soooo delicious!

OMGosh I am so disappointed! When we went last Oct we enjoyed the most wonderful soup there. DH had a corn chowder that was positively THE best ever! We also eached ordered combination plates that were delicious. I don't see them on the new menu. I'll have to see if the Cantina across the way offers anything more to our liking.

We had San Angel booked for CP for December and just changed after looking at the changed menu. My DD wanted the pasta and shrimp and can't find anything else. Where going to Tutto now.

We ate here at the very beginning of October and San Angel Inn has been a restaurant that we dine at on every trip. I noticed that they didn't have my favorite thing (Sope Tradicional) on the menu anymore. I didn't really pay attention to anything else, but I guess the whole menu has changed. That's not good at all; perhaps it's time to find a new favorite restaurant at Epcot.
