San Angel Inn

I've had one of the best cooked steaks there a couple years ago for lunch! And I love the atmosphere!

Love love love it! I just did a full report in my dining trip report. It was really one of the standouts of our trip. The food was great and we had a wonderful server. We are for sure repeating this one over and over again!!

Happy to hear all the good reviews. This was one we've put off trying for awhile and I finally decided to ignore all the bad reviews and make my own decision and try it. I think the atmosphere alone will be worth it to try once and I'm sure the kids will love the option of riding the boat while we are waiting for food and such.

Would you go with this or La Hacienda?

My kids love this restaurant. We like going at lunch right when it opens. It's not very busy then and we can usually get a seat right by the water.

We were there last week. Food was okay. My taco sampler was horrible. My wife's braised ribs was great. The avocado margherita was tasty but super weak in alcohol. The ambiance was nice. The service was awful. I'd rate it a C overall, but B for Disney since most of Disney dining is average at best.

I ate there once back in 1990 (I think) when I went with my mom and one of her co-workers on a work trip. I don't remember a lot of the details, other than I was disappointed that the menu wasn't more like a ChiChis or On the Border (what can I say - I was a a "dumb kid" back then!). Since then, we never gave it a 2nd thought. But looking at the menu now, there are some things that I think I might like, so we're giving it a try on our trip this September.

Sorry... Were you answering my question about La Hacienda? Because those things are on the La Hacienda menu but not the San Angel Inn menu.

Doh...I guess I don't know...I thought La Hacienda San Angel was the one on the water??? Sorry, I'm an idiot.

No problem. It is confusing - especially because I think La Hacienda is technically La Hacienda de San Angel (or something like that). It is the one on World Showcase Lagoon. San Angel Inn is inside the pyramid and on the river that the ride goes on.

We also love San Angel Inn. We hadn't been there in such a long time and tried it again and loved it. I love the Pollo a las Rajas, so much that I try to make it at home.

The appetizers at San Angel are fabulous, and HUGE. I went there with 2 girlfriends last fall. We split 3 appetizers and a salad, and we could barely finish it all. We also had a round of margaritas. It was so much fun, and not much more expensive than QS.

We also were scared off by the mixed reviews for several trips, but a couple of trips back we decided to try it and Loved it!! San Angel is now our Families Favorite, they request to go there every trip. We have never had a bad meal or service there--in fact our last trip it was the only Restaurant that had the best service. I always order a Seafood dish at all restaurants and my family likes Pork or Chicken--every dish has been very good.

We didn't like it at all - bland and our waitress was really poor. But I am a huge advocate for trying things yourself. The first time we ever had free dining, we decided to stay close to our resort the first night and eat at Mayan Grill which had (has?) terrible reviews but it was our favorite place that trip!

I'm so happy to read most of these reviews :) My daughter and I love the ride and the food smells amazing, so I decided our next trip we are going to try it. We got an 1130 ADR so hopefully we'll get a nice table by the water. So excited!!

we love San Angel and discovered it last time. DH does to like Mexican and it is one of his favorites. I like the chicken tingas.

My husband and I went to SAI for a late dinner last year for Food and Wine. I had wanted to eat there for years and years but always changed my mind due to the poor reviews I read. We enjoyed our meal greatly and I am so glad we went! My husband got the combination platter and I got the carne asada. The room was so peaceful and romantic with the lighting. BUT it was amazingly cramped and that did put a slight damper on it. The table was very small and our table was less than six inches from the neighboring table of a family of four.
