Does anyone have any comments on the new menu at San Angle Inn?

Menu - Pretty good - Authentic menu for the most part.
Food Preparation - NOT GOOD! , Cold food when supposed to be hot, over chared beef to the point of being bitter, bottled salsa and chips (not authentic)

Service - Ok when we have been there.

Atmosphere - The best part of the whole place but you can get that without eating there which is what we do now.

Pretty much sums up our experience a couple of weeks ago - except we didn't realize the menu was new.

What changed on the menu? DH and I will be eating there for the first time in about 3 days and the most recent menus I can find are from last year.

DH and DD are insisting on going there in March. I am really leaning towards trying to discourage them from it. Haven't been hearing too many good reports about it

We ate here last year and it was the surprise of our trip. DH and DS wanted to eat here. I almost cancelled our ADR's a few times because of the volume and consistency of the bad reviews here on the DIS. No one seems to like anything about it.
We were pleasantly surprised and we will go back in the future.
The food was good - not outstanding, but very good. The service was attentive without being hovering - just right!! The atmosphere is delightful. It was not too dark as I have read here. The tables are no more crowded than other WS restaurants, as I have read here.
We enjoyed it completely and we will return.
Enjoy

San Angel Inn is a must do for my family - me, DH, DD 12 and DS 9 love it! We find the food to be very authentic mexican - definitely not Taco Bell if you know what I mean-which is what I think a lot of people expect (don't get me wrong - we love Taco Bell too ). The chips and salsa did used to be better - as a matter of fact on our honeymoon 15 years ago the server packaged up some for me and DH to take with us - they were sooo good.

We were surprised to see a new menu for dinner when we went on Aug 23rd however I believe the lunch menu is the same.

I ordered a beef entree - filet tips over black beans on a corn tortilla. It was spicy and very tasty. My DD ordered a chicken dish with a creamy pepper sauce - my DH ordered a combo plate. He says our DD's meal was the best but personally I liked mine more.
Our server was very good - the atmosphere beautiful - the desserts weren't anything to write home about - I ordered flan and I've definitely had better - don't remember what DH ordered.

All in all I think San Angel makes for a very nice table service meal. We love the atmosphere, the servers have always been very pleasant and the food is tasty.
