This is DH's choice, and it will be our first time trying it. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I'm basing my opinion from Taco Bell.... I've seen the menu but it doesn't excite me (maybe cause I'm not familiar with the food). What do you recommend from there? Any favorite dishes? Love seafood and steak, and chicken, but we eat a ton of chicken at home, so it would have to be amazing to order at WDW. What's delicious there?

Best recommendation is to eat elsewhere. Your taco bell experience will be better than what you'll get at this place.

I agree-ate there-probably will not again
The guacomole was VERY good, though:)

I think their food is pretty awful, and it even looks bad (like dog food, IMO). If your husband really craves Mexican, try Hacienda (the new restaurant) instead. The food is better and the atmosphere is also a step up from San Angel Inn.

I thought that the Sopa Azteca and Tostados de Tinga (both appetizers on the lunch menu) were good. We ate at San Angel with a party of seven. Everyone enjoyed their meal and loved the atmosphere.

We ate at Hacienda de San Angel last week. The atmosphere was nice and the food was very good (especially the black bean soup!).

We really like both TS restaurants in Mexico and look forward to eating at both in the future!

I ate there at the end of February. The guacamole is awesome. The ribeye tacos are delish according to my fiancee. I had steak. The steak was good and tender but the rice and beans that came with it were not but that is okay because it saved room for the guacamole :) FYI I think Taco Bell is gross and I would not call it real Mexican food. The week I went to Disney, most of my table service meals were disappointing. I would go back to San Angel just for the guacamole but I have a bit of an addiction to guac :goodvibes

We actually like it quite a bit.

We have had the duck taco appetizer...I am not a big duck fan, but these were pretty good.

I enjoy the pollo a la rojas (Chicken, peppers, cream sauce.)

DBF enjoys the steak.

For me this ranks in the middle of the Epcot restaurants for food, and toward the slightly above average for service.

I had a very good sirloin there - can't recall if it was a menu item or if the chef made it special for me. (I'm on a special diet, and the sirloin was relatively low in fat.)

The Inn is battling a reputation for poor food, but my experience was that when its new cousin opened up last fall across the sidewalk, the Inn improved their food noticeably, perhaps just to keep from being embarrassed. I would now rate it as "pretty darn good". Recent reviews have indeed improved a lot.

DH and I enjoyed San Angel Inn. It was not as loud as other WDW restaurants maybe because of the dim lighting? The food was good too. We liked the chips and salsa. The menu has changed somewhat at least as far as appitizers but I enjoyed the chicken and rice and DH the ribeye tacos. Maybe the meal was enhanced by my margharita which was quite tasty!

Anyway ... I would go back in a heartbeat. Just try it and then you will know.

I know it is hard not to agonize over these meal choices ... Have fun! :thumbsup2
