San Angel Inn - too hot?

When we go to WDW in May my DD14 wants to eat at San Angel Inn but we are going with my aunt and MIL and they can't eat food that is too hot or spicey. Can anyone tell me if that would be a problem for them if we eat there? I know they have grilled chicken but I am still concerned that it may be spicey.

The things we've tried there were not hot/spicy, but it might depend on the dish. All I can say is, our food was not.

We are from Texas, and this was not the type of Mexican food that we typically eat, which is usually spicy. It was good, just different and what we ordered wasn't spicy. We each ordered something different and shared- sorry, I can't think of any specifics, but if it said peppers, we ordered it without them!

It is Disney Mexican. Nothing will be too spicey.

We were there last year. None of our entrees we had were spicy at all. Like another OP said, it's not the type of Mexican restaurant we usually go to. The dishes are a little "spiffier" but if I recall, there are some traditional items on the menu. I was nervous to try it after reading some reviews but DD & I ended up loving it. We'd go back but DD (6 at time) didn't like how dark it was in the restaurant. (She loved her meal, though!)

I agree with what others have said, we just ate at SAI last week and make it a usual stop on our dining. Nothing we had was all that spicy but, I would have them go ahead and check with the wait staff on what they are ordering just to make sure.

Not spicey....though it may depend on the dish. I've sampled some of the menu and not, yet, gotten a "spicy bite" (much to my dismay, actually).

But you may want to bring a flashlight to read the menu with....the "ambiance" lighting is a bit too dark for my tastes.

My mom doesn't eat anything spicy and we ate there in June '07. She got the Mahi-Mahi and she was fine. You can always ask them not to make anything spicy. I found they were very accommodating.

I had the tilapia without the sauce it definitely was not spicy

Thanks everyone for your input! My DH and I tried to eat there when our DD was 2 but had to leave because she wouldn't stop crying. Maybe cause it is dark. We always wanted to try it though because of the atmosphere. Funny now that it is the same DD who wants to eat there! We sure appreciate your advice and will definatly follow it! I always know I can get good advice from the people on the Disboards!

ME and DW had the steak and shrimp combo this year and last. Was not hot or spicey but very good.
They bring you salsa and chips at the beginning 1 of salsa is hot the other is mild.
