Or are there more "even" items too? In general I don't like onions and peppers (chilies)...anything TOO hot. But I love tacos...about that spicy is great.

Dh would love spicy...but my tummy just can't handle "on fire" stuff....the menu looks yummy, but I'd hate to order it, not speaking spanish, and find out something in the title meant "burns your mouth off", kwim?:lmao:

Any help appreciated.

Hi
I ordered a cheese enchilada without the chicken and it wasn't spicy at all. I don't like real spicy stuff, and this was delicious!! If your entree comes with a sauce, I guess you could ask for it on the side.

Thanks! I love the atmosphere there, and dh will love the food...just wanted to make sure I'd be able to eat something too!:thumbsup2

Totally not spicy. I don't think Disney serves truly spicy food.

I don't like spice either, but I like San Angel. You can also ask for anything to be made "mild."

Is San Angel authentic mexican or is it like that chain Chi Chis? My kids don't really like authentic mexican. I don't know if Chi Chis is still open anywhere. Th one near me closed over 2 years ago.

San Angel is is not spicy at all. If your husband likes spicy and is expecting it, this isn't the place to go. We ate their once and for us it was bland. We like chilis, jalapenos, spicy peppers in general. I even tried asking for hot sauce and they didn't have it. :confused3

We won't ever eat there again. Once was enough for us.

It's much closer to authentic Mexican than most "Mexican" food eaten by Americans. This is not to insult Americanized Mexican food, which I also love. But there is a difference (obviously) and San Angel is closer to "real" Mexican. Which is a weird thing to say about a restaurant in a theme park, but there you have it.

However, it's not all that spicy.

WE have eaten there many times and not found it to be overly spicy - although if you want and ask for your meal to be spicy - they will accomodate. My DD11 loves it there and has tried many things she wouldnt normally eat. My only recommendation is know what you want before you get there. Reading the menu in the very very dark atmosphere is all but impossible -we had to read by cell phone light last time :)

I guess spicy is all relative... I love spicy... They were very accomodating and wonderful at SAI. I bet they would prepare a dish a little different for you if you wanted. I did not get the impression that dishes were prepared ahead of time in prep. Or they fooled me.

While I can't say I wouldn't go again, I do agree, when we ate there it was rather bland. I LOVE spicy food, and this was not even close.
