This was a terrific meal!

The was our alternative because the Food & Wine Fest was a rainy mess!

I got the Fiesta Margarita from outside first, then we decided to go inside for dinner.

We were seated right away. My date ordered a "real" margarita first and we were brought chips and salsa. Now, my date, being the salsa expert, thought the salsa was terrific. I also enjoyed it.

He ordered the Mole Poblano and I had the Plato Mexicano.

Plato Mexicano: Beef tenderloin Tampiquena, chicken enchelada and chile relleno, served with refried beans and grilled vegetables.

Mole Poblano - Grilled chicken breast served over a bed of chicken morsels, carrots, chayote chiles, with the classic sauce of spices and hint of chocolate.

Mine was wonderful. The tenderlion... well it gives tenderlion a good name. It was tender and I cut it with a butter knife. :) YUM. He was disappointed with his Mole.

At this time, during dinner, I required a "real" margarita. I was not disappointed. It was one of the best margaritas ever. If I go back there, and I will, I won't bother stopping at the margarita stand outside... I'm going inside and having a "real" one. They used a good brand tequila and tripple sec.

Total cost, including tip: 66.18

We didn't have desert there. Since it was the Food and Wine Fest... we wondered back to Italy and had canoli and coffee. Also GREAT!

I love San Angel, too! I just don't get the negative reviews on this place and I'm from Texas. Oh, well! More PS's available for me! I love the tenderloin. I prefer having the mole sauce on top of chicken enchiladas. They have always done that for me.

Great review! I, too, love the margaritas at San Angel - much better than the ones the sell outside. But then, I am not a fan of frozen drinks - give me one one the rocks! :teeth:

I'm glad that you enjoyed your meal at San Angel Inn. DH and I decided to have dinner there one night (ok, I decided) because of the positive reviews I read on this board. I must admit, Mike got a huge "I told you so" out of this one. The food was blah. It wasn't bad, per se, but it wasn't "oh boy, I'm going to pay $50 for this and it was worth it", either! We had Plato Mexico and some sort of combination. Again, not bad, but not good, either. I wish I had gone on one of the nights when any of ya'll were there... sounds like I may have enjoyed my experience more!

Erin :D

Wonderful review!!! :)

I loved San Angel Inn. DH and I both thought the food and margaritas were wonderful!

I have planned for it to be our very first meal when we return to WDW next year!

I can't wait!

Teresa
