We had lunch here in Oct and it was great, DH has been pestering me to go for dinner...well I just cancelled our Flying Fish ressie for June to get a SAI dinner ressie since they are not going to be remodeling the place.

DH is going to be so happy, oy the things you do for love!

So for those of you that have been in the last month of so, how was it?

I hope you get some replies & pics. I've been wanting to try it, since they debuted the new menu. It looks much better to me.

I went for lunch about a month ago. It was good...but it wasn't dinner.

We ate here for lunch the end of February and it was seriously one of our favorite meals! I don't get why everyone dislikes it so much! Maybe because it's not like your local Tex-Mex place? Our server told us it was like Mexico City cuisine. Honestly, we were happy with everything we ordered and loved our server! Anywho, here's what we thought:

The amotsphere is amazing! We scored a table by the river and volcano!:woohoo: Our server was fantastic! Lots of fun, very efficient and helpful with menu suggestions. Chips and salsa were awesome too!:thumbsup2

To start with I had the Sopa Azteca - traditional tortilla soup with avocado, cheese and pasilla pepper. It was soooo good, they bring it out with this warm broth in a cup that they pour over the crunchy tortillas! For an entree I had the Churrasco Con Chilaquiles - Grilled flank steak with chilaquiles (layers of fried corn tortilla, green tomatilla sauce, topped with fresh cheese, onions, and sour cream). Delish is all I can say!! I nearly licked my plate with my fingers!! Dessert was really scrumptious too...I had white chocolate bread pudding. It was all so yummy.:goodvibes Oh, before I forget, our server recommended the Top Shelf margarita and boy were they good! It's the only restaurant my DH requested we eat at again in October. :goodvibes

We too ate at San Angel in October and if was fabulous!! I had been there many times over the years and always had nice meals but the new menu blew me away!!! The food was truly outstanding (and I am a total lover of mexican food) and you can't beat the ambiance!!! For an appetizer we tried the Tostadas de Jaiba which was delicious! For entrees, I had the Pollo a Las Rajas which was amazing and DH had the Puntas de Filete en Salsa Guajillo which as the last poster said, was truly wonderful!! I tried that as well and kept sneaking more off his plate!!! We topped the meal off with the rice pudding which was also very very tasty! In my opinion it is a "not to be missed" restaurant... oh and wear loose fitting pants... trust me!!! :dance3:

I am so glad they changed renovations and I was able to get ADR(called 2 days ago). I love the atmosphere and hope the food is great too- I was there in "02 so changed.

Despite so many bad reviews, I've always wanted to eat here because of how breathtaking the ambiance is! I've firmly decided on it for our trip in Nov, but now I'm afraid they may do the renovations at that time. Guess I'll just have to keep up-to-date. At least there are lots of other choices at Epcot. But that would just be my luck!

I'm so glad to hear these great reviews! It sounds really wonderful!!!

We ate dinner there last December and thought the food was great. I like the dinner menu better than lunch, because the Mole Poblano is not on the lunch menu and it is fantastic. Both my DH and I can't wait to go back and get it again. The Tortilla soup is great too.
