We used them at San Angel in July. We had no problem. Used two adult and two kids vouchers. We ordered the Queso Fundido as an appetizer ( 2 platters) each order is intended for two people. The kids got smoothies to drink and one ordered chicken tenders and the other the children's taco platter. The kids had to order their entrees from the children's menu. That whole Le Cellier thing made no sense. Of course the children have to order the entree from the children's menu, but since there is no children's menu for appetizers they go from the adult menu. The staff just didn't know what they were doing. Ok back to San Angel... DH and I ordered whatever we wanted from the entrees and we all had churros for dessert (4 plates of them). We literally rolled out of the place, but I overpurchased vouchers and figured we may as well just use them!
Another example of restaurants with children's menus brings Rainforest Cafe at AK to mind. They have a children's dessert menu so the kids had to choose their dessert from that, their entree from the kids menu, but they have no children's appetizer or drink menu so the kids could have whatever they wanted.
The poster that had the problem at Le Cellier did the right thing by not using the vouchers there and not purchasing children's entrees, but most of all by not getting upset and ruining her vacation over it! If I encountered that problem, I would write Disney to request clarification or ask guest services at the hotel who to contact while there and bring the response with me on future vacations.
