I remember San Angel always getting poor reviews, but it looks like they upgraded their menu?

What do you think of it now? Any good?

For awhile, they were getting very bad reviews and many complaints. Disney forced them to clean up their act awhile ago though.

I went last year for lunch and it was very good. It had just opened up for the day (11:30am reservation), so it was still quiet and service was great. Ordered the Sopa Azteca, Ribeye Tacos (which don't appear to be on the menu anymore), and some delicous White Chocolate Mousse dessert thingy.

I'll be heading back there again in Sept as well and it's one of the 17 places I'm really looking forward to! (Ok, I'm going to 17 different restaurants... and looking forward to them all, but that's beside the point).

I have enjoyed San Angel Inn the last two times we have been. I really enjoy the Sopa Azteca, very good soup! Definitely worth a try.

Along those lines, what is the best thing to order there, considering taste and price?

We have had lunch here multiple times over the last year (moved here about 15 months ago) and have always had an excellent meal! I always get the same thing, Sopa Azteca and Pollo A Las Rajas. Sorry, not sure what all my DH has ordered, but he also always starts with the Sopa Azteca. Last trip (late Feb) we did have to send back our entree's as they arrived too quick after the soup. But they brought them about 10 or 15 min later and they were perfect, they must have remade them as they were still very hot.
Highly recommend this!

My DH and I have always enjoyed SAI-we usually get the steak soft tacos (not sure of the actual menu name). We love the ambience of the restaurant, but will only go if it is just the 2 of us. The service is notoriously slow, so don't be in a hurry.

im going to be the party popper. :rolleyes1
we went to san angel last august and it was awful. not just for me and my husband but for like ten other people that night. we were so excited because we love mexican food (we had travel to mexico so many times and ate great food there) we order and the food was not impressive. before the meal ended we started feeling really weird. we left the restaurant and while getting we saw two people feeling really sick in the bushes. we walk tog et out of the park because our stomach was driving us crazy when the nightmare started. i started to be sick and didnt stop. one of the cast members called medical services. the were really nice, took us to the first aid place and it was full of people with the same symptoms that had eaten at the same restaurant. disney gave us a free meal is a restaurant of our choice.

long story short. we will never eat at that restaurant again. sorry! maybe what we experience it was a once in a lifetime thing but we dont want to experience it again.
