Sam's return policy on non-perishable food--NOT happy

I've returned food twice. They were both the Heritage Farms chicken from Kroger. I opened it up and it smelled horrible. I will not buy that brand again.

That's a quality issue, not a preference one. I wouldn't hesitate to return something like that, either.

I have returned food once, It was a frozen pizza we bought for dinner that night. When we took it out of the package the pepperoni was dark brown and smelled terrible, it had obviously defrosted and been refrozen at one point. Probably in the store as an orphan someone decided against.
The worst thing I remember from working in a grocery store in High School was the lady who came in and returned a bag of potato chips because there were a few that were broken and her husband wanted all the chips to be whole! Talk about firstworldproblems.
That was 20 years ago and I still remember her, clear as day!

I figure if they can sell a Gluten Free product and put enough sodium in it to kill you I have zero shame in returning it.

Some people think that gluten free means healthy and that is often far from the truth. Read your labels!

FOR OP -I guess you better cross Target off your shopping list too since they have the same policy!

WOW op, your part of the reason why food prices are higher, Lawsuits happen, and what you did was extremely self centered.

I have returned food once. We opened some breakfast sausage and the smell that came out of it made us gag. My dad had just bought it that morning. So yes, I went and got my dad's money back. It was rotten. I felt bad for the poor girl who had to open it at the store.

This is the only reason to return food. They sold you a defective product.

Don't get me started on people at the food bank. I volunteer there and a few people get mad if the commodity they get is a brand they don't like. We had to put up a big sign to NOT throw items out if they are a brand you don't like, return it so someone else can use it.

to no end, ever. Smile and shake head, walk away every time it happens.

Do you know how many pots of REAL gluten free soup you could have made for $42?

I have never returned food to a grocery store and honestly the thought has never crossed my mind. I have plenty of parties with left-overs, either I give them to friends/family at the party or I use them up at home.

In a crockpot without hauling 8-12 cans of soup from and back to store. I love how they slap a "gluten free, light, healthy label" on a product and people believe it.

A lot of #firstworldproblems in this thread.
