I just realized that our AmEx card has an offer for a free Sam's Club membership. Will probably take advantage of it for the discounted Disney gift cards but I'm wondering what else might be a good buy there?

Around Christmas they put iTunes cards on sale. I stock up and we use them for gifts and to pay for our Netflix subscription.

We use Sam's for Aluminum foil, zip lock bags, garbage bags, paper towels, Dish liquid, bath soap etc. They have great deals on bulk things like I previously listed. Since these type of items don't go bad it is not a big deal to buy and hold on to 500 Feet of aluminum foil when it only cost $8.00. They also have good prices on things like TV's, cloths, mattresses and tires. I also find they have really good sale items. Every month the have sales that normally lower the price of items we use by 2.00 to 5.00 depending on the item. On most of the food items I find Wal-Mart to be comparable in price, but Sam's is a much nicer, organized, and cleaner store. At least that is the case in my area.

I love Sams and get so mic from there. You have to watch what you buy though, because not everything is a good deal.
I like to get:
24 packs of small bottles of Sunny D for lunches
Bags of individually frozen chicken breasts
Laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels and dishwasher detergent. These aren't necessarily cheaper and I think you can go better catching sales, but I like having enough to last several months. Keeps me from having to buy last minute when prices are usually higher.
Frozen broccoli--they sale a pack with 4 steam able bags
Hormel pre cooked bacon slices

And soooo much more.

Tide pods, crushed tomatoes (can), tomato paste (smaller cans), chicken broth, almonds, tortilla shells, apples

We buy mostly meats, lettuce etc. at Sams. Much better quality and prices than grocery stores. Also use Costco.

Ground beef (90/10 is like $3/lb), snack bars and GoGo squeeze for lunches, pre-sliced apples, yogurt, Nutella, ketchup, canned chicken, frozen chicken breasts, breakfast sandwiches.....

Sometimes, we grab some milk or eggs if they are not on sale for a better price at our local grocery store. Also, gas is usually about $0.10/gal cheapest at SAMs.

Hey, anyone know what the price is of that $500 Disney Gift Card they sell is?

I shop there often. Prices on fresh fruits and vegetables is quite good and quality is good too! I also buy paper products and other groceries. There was a sale on cereal my son eats for $2 or $3 of one of the huge boxes. I bought three and had enough for the whole summer! I have also bought clothes and shoes there. Just so many options.

$474.98

I just rejoined Sam's yesterday after several years away. I signed up for the Disney gift cards and the 5X rewards with my Chase Freedom card. They also have good deals on dog food, and I have three large dogs, so that's a big plus. Along with dog food yesterday, I bought: paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, bottled water, Clorox wipes (I'm a teacher, so these are essential), and I think that's it. I'll also buy cat food, dish soap, detergent, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, hand sanitizer (again, school), and who knows what else. I love that store. Unlike the life-sucking dread I experience at the thought of entering Wal-Mart, going to Sam's is actually enjoyable.

At Sam's my regular list included salmon, ground beef, chicken breasts, TP, paper towels, ciabatta bread, PB pretzels and cashews.

The only bad thing about Sams/Costco is all the extra stuff that seems to jump in my cart!

We belong to Costco now and I like it better overall but for free, I would definitely go to Sam's.

i buy a lot of frozen goods there. Sometimes meats as well, which i seal some up for later use. They have some pretty good blacken salmon.

I also get my supply of Tmobile GC from there as well. The 5x really helps me earn those UR points with the freedom card.
Sams Club was half off for me compared to costco, ive been with Sams club for the past 3 years getting membership at half off! good deal!

I buy a lot of groceries at Sam's.
Real butter
milk
cream
1/2 and 1/2
sour cream
lemonade

shredded or block cheese. For shredded I buy the 5 lb. bag and portion it out in Ziplocs and then freeze. It's so much cheaper than the 8 oz. bags at the grocery store.
boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Usually 1.88-1.99/lb. (also portion out and freeze).
other meats
bacon
frozen vegetables--I took the frozen corn to a carry-in recently when I was too busy to cook. I couldn't believe how my family raved about corn! :goodvibes

spices
pecans--buy at Christmas for baking and freeze what I don't use.
Planters peanuts and mixed nuts
brown sugar
Olive oil

tortillas
English muffins
Veggie straws
Annie's popcorn

dog food
Flea medicine (like Frontline but a lot cheaper)
laundry and dishwasher detergent

feminine products
Benedryl
shave cream
body wash
deodorant
Slim Fast (daughter hates breakfast but she'll drink this)

and we've purchased these big items:
TV
mattresses (3 sets)
lift chair for elderly MIL
table
tires

Cat litter, laundry soap, kcups, generic zyrtec (like $17 for a year supply), rotisserie chicken, snacks for my kids for school and scouts, glade plug in refills.

Their travel prices are really good as well.

I have booked hotels through their site for much cheaper than anywhere else and their Universal Studios tickets are the cheapest I have seen.

bottled water, peanut butter, nutella, boneless skinless chicken breasts, ground beef, cereal, k cups, frozen salmon, frozen tilapia, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher tabs, and plain white washcloths (in the restaurant supply section) are super cheap for cleaning rags.

The store brand bottled water is under $3 for a 36ct case. I always keep a case in my truck so we have water wherever we are. Store brand powdered laundry detergent is comparable to Tide and much much cheaper per load. The rotisserie chickens are cheaper and bigger than the grocery store too.

Bottled Water, Ground Beef, Chicken Breasts, Kcups, Kaiser Rolls, Rotisserie Chicken, Bananas, individual packets of Goldfish crackers, bags of Doritos - probably my most purchased items

I've bought a computer chair, 6 ft folding table and chairs (Lifetime brand), seasonal stuff (decor, outdoor yard work stuff), spices, memory foam bath mats, tires, mechanical pencils, clothes, lunch snacks and I'm currently looking at a computer to replace the one I'm on now that will be 9 years old in December!

I mainly buy toilet tissue. And all our birthday cakes come from Sam's. Love one of their chicken salads and their croissants. Yum.
I bought my sofa from there and my Roku tv. The savings in gas alone more than make up for the annual fee.
I have a tag along Sam's business membership thru my daughter's employer so I only pay $18 per year  so I can go during the early hours. The closest Sam's to me is about 2 miles and halfway between home and work so really convenient.
