Hey everyone,

I am going to stay at the Poly for the 1st time ever in May as part of a land/sea package and would like to put in a room request. I was on Tikiman's site last night and have decided between Samoa and Fiji for the close proximity to the Volcano Pool. Does anyone have any advice of which building they prefer and if so, which floor and/or room? As usual :disrocks:

You have a hard decision!! Actually, not, as we have stayed in both buildings and they are both fabulous. We stayed in Samoa on the first floor last October and found the location to be fabulous. Our grandsons were so thrilled to be close to the volcano pool and I liked having the quiet pool handy for me. I was worried the noise from the volcano pool would bother us, but our room faced that pool and when the door is shut we never heard anything. My 7 month old grandson was able to take naps without any problems. We stayed in Fiji the year before and it was equally nice, just a little longer walk. We faced the luau cove and did hear the drums faintly at 10 pm with the door closed, but it was such a short time and actually enhanced the tropical setting. We were on the first floor again that year. We choose first floor as we have three strollers and they all won't fit in the elevator at the same time (with 4 more adults too). You are going to love the Poly; you just can't beat the location and the theme.
Have a wonderful trip.

Thank you Disnemimi - anyone else? My dd is liking the balcony although I think the ground floor would be nice too. Less walking :cool1:

We have stayed in both (Samoa twice) and now always request "Fiji OR Samoa". Both have great views on either side.
When we stayed in Fiji we were on the ground floor facing the Wedding Paviollion. We were able to walk right out to the beach and from there had a great view of the castle. We could also hear the luau at night which was nice while sitting out on the patio.
In Samoa we have had both sides. I prefer facing the volcano pool as we also had a view of the castle if we stretched, but the quiet pool was a nice view too. We had balconies in these rooms which I really do prefer.

Thanks CamColt so if I request Samoa then should I also request the 3rd floor facing the Volcano pool? I'm not sure how it works since I've only stayed in mods b4. That was CSR and I requested Cabanas 8B or 8A so it narrowed it down. I'm trying to find out exactly how to word my request to increase my chances of receiving it. I don't even know if they will grant requests on the land/sea but I'm going to try because I want to really have it perfect for my princess: Thanks again!

Which three of the buildings are the newest with the larger rooms?

Rapa Nui, Tokelau and Tahiti are the newer buildings with larger rooms and balconies on both 2nd and 3rd floors.

We've stayed in Fiji the last two years and loved the location. We were on the third floor each time, marina view, and that's what I'd like next time. You can sit on the balcony and people watch. People parking the boats are good for a laugh or two. No offence intended to anyone. I just haven't done it yet. Next time someone will be laughing at me.

Either building, when you make your ressie, you can request "Marina View" and they will try to accommadate you.

You're going to love it. Poly is our favorite.

I'm driving myself crazy over here b/c they all look lovely. Actually I really wanted to stay in Tokelau but I think they are going to be under renovation :sad1: Anyone know if they are available from May 5th through the 8th?

Since Ive discovered this is what I like I just say "preferably Samoa or Fiji with a balcony". We have gotten the buildings we wanted, but not always a balcony. I dont specify a side because either side has a good view and I dont want to be too picky. Id rather get the building and balcony I want over the specific view, even if would prefer a certain side. I leave that up to chance since I know I wont be looking at a parking lot with either of those buildings. ;)

Just returned for Samoa 1st floor facing quiet pool & it was absolutely perfect. Kids could run for refills on mugs quickly & pools being close was great. You will love the Poly!!!

I've made up my mind to choose Samoa if Tokelu (sp) is under rehab when I got either ground or balcony but the ground sounds nice so you can walk over to the pool. My dd wants a balcony for some reason but we'll see. Thanks everyone for your advice.

We stayed in Fiji 3rd floor facing the marina this past December- it was an awesome room because:

Short walk to the GCH
Beautiful view of the Contemporary, Space Mt. and Electric Water Pageant!

When we stay there this May, I am going to request 3rd floor Fiji or as my second choice 3rd floor Samoa. -Steph
