Samoa building Polynesian

Last august we were @ poly we were in "FIGI" marina view. Right in the middle of the marina. I requested it. At first the cm said something when I asked if we got figi, and he said that is a waterview room, and I said (very sweetly, & politely) I don't want to correct (argue) you but no it's not, it is in fact considered GV. He went to check and said Your right and we have it available. ...... We had a perfect marina view of the Contempary resort, Polynesian volcano (backside), and all the marina activity. Could also see the electric water parade as it went by from our balcony. Great location! ;)

Samoa was our first choice last Summer but b/c we checked in after 8:30 pm, all the rooms were gone. We ended up in Rapa Nui. We spend a lot of time walking to the pool on tired legs. Request to stay close to the Volcano pool of you have small children. My second choice would be Tokelau.

What's wrong with 1601? I'm just curious because I REALLY want a room on the first floor of Samoa, on the volcano-pool side for our June trip.

Basically i just had a bad experience with the room, and felt that Housekeeping, the front desk, and managers themselves were not only not helpful but unmagical and undisneylike.

The long house and especially room redrum.. i mean 1601... is a great location.

Because this is the room John Lennon was supposedly staying in when he finally signed the contract dissolving the Beatles, during his "lost weekend" period when he was separated from Yoko and traveling with May Pang. I only found this out a few years ago, after, as a 10-year-old kid, I had stayed in that room without knowing much band history.

You just replied to a post that was over 13 years old. Please be careful to check the original post date before responding.
