Same use year at 2 different resorts?

So I see use year does not matter as to when you book, but only when your points are available. If you want the ability to book a one bedroom at 11 months out at VGF or BLT, can you purchase 2 smaller contracts and still have that option? In other words, if I usually travel each year in Oct-Dec for a week booking at either the GF or Contemporary, and I want to purchase DVC to do the same thing, could I purchase a small contract at each resort, with say a September UY, and be able to pick one to book at 11 months since each contract would renew points in Sept?

Hope that makes sense.

Yes a September UY would work well for those travel times. You could bank/borrow and use double points and alternate years at BLT and GFV. (Just remember you can only use the BLT points to book BLT at 11 months and the same for GFV- the points can't be combined to make one reservation until the 7 month mark)

The advantages of having the same use year for both resorts are that you have one membership number (assuming you’ve titled both contracts exactly the same) so you don’t have to mess with transferring points from one membership to the other if you wanted to combine points at 7 months for a stay.
To be clear, you can only reserve at VGF at 11 months with VGF points. If you want to use your BLT (the closest DVC resort to the Contemporary) points to stay at the VGF you must wait until the 7 month non home resort booking window to do so.
What many who own at 2 DVC resorts do, including myself, is an every other year approach. I book one of my home resorts at 11 months one year using 2 years worth of points for that resort, the next year I book my other resort at 11 months using 2 years worth of points for that resort.
In your case, say you bought 100 points at both VGF & BLT:
2020 book VGF @ 11 months using 2019 VGF points banked into 2020 plus all current VGF points = 200 point stay
2021 book BLT @ 11 months using 2020 BLT points banked into 2021 plus all current BLT points = 200 point stay
2022 book VGF @ 11 months using 2021 VGF points banked into 2022 plus all current VGF points = 200 point stay
Etc.

Thanks guys. That makes it clear. Exactly what I needed to know. I am kind of a Halloween at the Contemporary and Christmas at the GF kind of guy! LOL
