Same Room - Boarding Separately?

We are pretty seasoned DCL cruisers but not certain I know the exact answer to this question.

Our family of 4 are booked in the same room/reservation.

Do all 4 of us have to board at the same time?

Or can the parents and children split into two groups and board at separate times?

OP, I have not personally done this, but have considered it. When I researched this topic, it seemed that you could check in at different times. Maybe someone will chime in with real world experience!

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like I may just call Disney. My son can get overwhelmed with everything that is going on and it may be better for him to be able to go right to our stateroom.

My daughter and I want to board as soon as we can so we can eat lunch on the ship.

I think you need to check in together but you wouldn't have to all BOARD together. If you can find a quiet corner of the terminal to hang out?

You don’t need to check in together unless that is a new requirement. DH and I have checked in separately for years. He drops me off at the port, returns the car, takes shuttle to port and meets up with me after I’ve already checked in and sitting comfortably in the terminal waiting for our number to be called.

I’ve definitely had that experience with the rental car and check in. Usually we just wait outside the terminal for my wife to return, but on our last cruise it was raining pretty hard so we checked in without her.

So I assume we could also board separately if we wanted to…but just wanted to see if anyone else could confirm it.
