Same Day Reservation

I will be in Orlando on Saturday. I may need a room for the night but will not know until around 4pm. Has anyone called or walked up the same day to get a reservation? Thanks in advance,

I've done this several times. I've called from MCO, got a car and checked in.
Of course there's no guarantee on availability. And they always have put me into my home resort.

I believe that you would have to call MS first. I don't think that the front desk would be able to handle a "walk-up" reservation.

Multiple times DW and I have gone to DTD for the day and decided to stay for the night. One time on a Sunday before MS was working on the weekends I called OKW front desk and checked in within 15 minutes. Another time I called MS, took a boat over to SSR, and checked in.

Yep. Fight got canceled AFTER we got to the airport. We had checked-in our luggage at the resort too.

Went down to get our luggage. Called MS, got a room and reservation #, walked down to ME and gave them the reservation # and got back on the bus back to WDW.

We also have done this. Called after getting off the Magic, we were actually on our way home on I-95 and had to flip around to go back south at an exit after we called MS.!

Just don't try to get a same day DVC reservation through Disney's Central Reservations Office (ie 'main' Disney number) as they do not handle DVC points reservations and will most likely tell you that it is impossible to do. If it is after MS closing time for day it is still possible to try to get same day reservation by calling directly to the front desk of the DVC resort you want (if you call Disney's main number you'd need to emphasize that you need to be put through to front desk otherwise you will be talking to an call center location) or as others here have posted just go directly to that resort & handle it in person.

In February we had to fly in a day early due to a weather delay. I called MS on the way to the airport and they were able to get us a room at BC for that night.

We have also gotten a same day ressie, we had a 1 bedroom booked at SS, called MS coming from VB and got a 2 bedroom at OKW(home resort), points transferred to new ressie, no problems, MS was more than helpful.

We might be doing the same thing but with Vero end of April. I don't want to call right now.

We might pick up and drive down to Jupiter end of April (already requested off from work). Minus 4 days for traveling, we will have 8/9 nights there, so will take any one or two nights at Vero if available. I will call as soon as we pack up the car (one or two days before).
