I'm taking my first solo trip - memorial day weekend. A whirlwind trip - 2 days in parks. Is it possible to get fp's the day of... I know it can be done but how plausible is it that I'll get much of anything?

I'm so excited - treating myself. Got a new role at my company and ended a toxic relationship. need this.

Thanks
Pam

Yes it is. My son book a few about a week in advance but did many of them same-day.

The key is to keep monitoring/refreshing the app. You'll be surprised what opens up.

Yes, same day FP+ are easy. In a 6 hour visit to the parks, we'll go through the 3 that you pick ahead of time, plus easily get another 4-6.

We rarely book ours in advance, it's almost always the morning of on the bus to the park. We are seat of the pants type people and usually don't even know what park we are going to until we get up in the morning. We just don't like to be tied down. I did book FOP about 2 weeks before our trip last week just because we had always done it on stand by and I was playing around on MDE and saw it was available. Otherwise, nope nothing in advance.

Thanks everyone - I'm staying offsite - Comfort Inn Maingate which is a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel. I guess I"ll have to link up my tickets before I can book FP's and sign on to MDE - correct? Do they still have the kiosks around for FP's?

Why not buy tickets NOW,
and book FPs NOW?

I mean right now, as in the next hour, or so.

FP+ is much easier on your smart phone now if you have one. Park has wi-fi to keep your data use down. I book the next one standing in line now.

Agree with Robo. Link and book now. We’ve booked same day many times and it’s possible. You just have to be flexible.

I remember the first time we did same day FP. Took one look at the standby line for Haunted Mansion (over 1 hr) and managed to book FPs right then and there to be used in just the next 2 hrs.

It is totally possible ..we did a 1 day surprise to MK and booked FP day of..we did really good. I was amazed at we did in 1 day there. Have a wonderful time!!!

Hey gang - just piggybacking off this thread.

For the first time ever, I'm going to wing it on my bday weekend (June 2 & 3) - since we're doing such a short trip, I think I'd like to go into Epcot in the morning and then HS that night (DH has never seen the Star Wars fireworks).

So my question is: is it possible to get same day FP+ for Test Track and Soarin'....followed by Star Tours and RnRC? I can't imagine us waiting in line longer than 20-30 mins for ST, but nonetheless, any advice is appreciated!

Not in advance, but yes. You will likely need to check for subsequent FPs often.

Yes. In Epcot, TT will be harder than Soarin, but with refreshing, you should be able to do it. In HS, Star Tours should be easy, but RnR will be tougher. Again, refresh and you'll eventually get it.

We did it Easter Week, which was very crowded.

We got EVERYTHING at Epcot. Literally booked FEA for 3, walked straight over and past a long SB line out the door, out the land and all the way to China. Anyone could have opened their phone and booked. DHS, no problems. Two days at MK, no problems even booked 7DMT. We used up to 20 each day rolling the 4th after we booked the first 3 day of.

Just a heads up, we tried this a few months back and even though we scheduled our Epcot FPs for the first three hours of the day, when we logged on to get fastpasses at HS, there was NO Star Tours (or anything at HS except little mermaid) for the whole day. That might not be typical, but remember great movie ride is closed so there are fewer attractions there now, and once Toy Story Land opens and the park gets super crowded, I think the FP situation for 2nd tier rides like Star Tours will become even harder to come by. We ended up monitoring the app for wait times and jumped when the posted wait time for ST went under an hour, but it was pretty stressful for the kids as it is their favorite ride.

In my opinion, it is much easier to get good fast passes all day at MK (party of 3) - every time I checked the app there was a range of things to choose from, and we really didn't wait in any lines all day. I couldn't get peter pan to pop up, but we did everything else we wanted to do. In AK there are far fewer rides to choose from, so I found the availability much more limited, but we were able to switch things around. I would bet that HS would be a little challenging at the moment because there are so few fast-passable rides at the moment. With just one person, though, your chances are pretty good. I love touring solo!

I book mine in advance and then change everything typically the day of. Last Tuesday I got Thunder Mtn and Space while in the park in the morning. Could have gotten others but had a flight home to catch. Lol

Thanks. I'd say what happened to you definitely isn't typical, maybe an odd circumstance that day or an issue with the ride.. We were there the week of Christmas to NYE and had no trouble getting Star Tours. I think the closing of the Movie Ride hurt some, but not a ton.
