Same Day Availability Due to Canceled Flights

If people have to cancel their reservations due to canceled flights, will DVC put those rooms back in inventory that day? I am wondering if on a weekend where there are a lot of flight cancellations, can I go to a resort or call DVC and get a same day reservation?

They may or may not show up online but one can always call and see if there is something they can book for you,

You can not go to a resort and book a DVC room that way….you must use MS.

You can’t book “day of” online anyway, so the only way to know is to call.

OP can’t fault you for your ingenuity

we’ve had our share of delayed/outright cancelled flights since last year. First go-round early august. Wound up driving 12 hours. Not to WDW, the beach. WDW would be over 20 hours ugh.

since DVC rooms are basically ‘pre-paid’ reservations, I’m thinking if you would call & explain your situation in this case…the room would be waiting for you if managed to get there a day or two later.

My last minute trips:
DW and I several times have been at DTD for the day and decided we wanted to stay the night. Called the resorts directly (back before MS was open on Sundays) or MS and checked in within 15 minutes.

At MK for the day in Feb ’14 for our anniversary, called MS @09:00, and booked a room at BLT for that night. Checked-in @11:00 and the room was ready. We did not plan on this day going like this until @05:00 while still in bed.

I've booked so many day of rooms before. Sometimes I wake up (in NJ) and say screw it I'm going to Disney hahaha
