Hi,
If you are planning your ceremony to be held in Epcot, I would if someone else wanted the same day and location as you. I don't think it really happens that often. In fact we actually switched our ceremony location less than a week before the wedding.
When I spoke to Disney i was told that it was wedding pavilion and conference centre locations that had the 8 month rule and everywhere else was 12 months.
Yep - it's basically the same thing as saying "You can book theme park locations, Ariel's and Atlantic Dance Hall at 12 months, all others at 8 months" because theme parks/Ariel's/ADH are the ONLY other locations! I mean, there are restaurant reception locations, but your ceremony location would determine when you could book, and it falls into all those categories.
SO confusing! Plus, availability changes all the time, so my rule of thumb is to just ask, ask, ask!
In Epcot you usually do not have to worry about a lottery. Mostly this happens for the WP on Friday or Sat nights during the summer. Hang in there! If there are people on your day, would you be willing to move the day so that you could have your location? I was willing to do that, but I didn't have to!

Haha, I was just talking to Misty, and she said Disney makes a point to keep brides away from eachother, so they don't "ruin the fantasy." Kinda cute, but I don't mind sharing my day with shez! I want a pic of us together! lol

We did SBP escape and we had to wait 8 months before. We had it "tentatively booked" 12 months in advance, but couldn't put the deposit down until 8 months,.
