Samantha Brown was in my villa!

We've been back for a little over 2 weeks from an extended family trip at VWL. Today, I thought it would be fun to put on the Samantha Brown Great Hotels special where she visits the Wilderness Lodge. We've DVR'ed all the Travel Channel Disney specials. I guess you could say I was feeling “homesick” and I thought that DS 2 1/2 would get a kick out of it. He certainly recognized it and kept saying “Go to hotel! Go to hotel!!”

BUT, the cool thing is the section where she profiles the villas. She walks to a door, inserts her key and you get a clear shot of the room number: 3545! OUR VILLA!!! Samantha Brown was in our villa!!!! Of course, it was like, six years before us, but still!! How exciting!

Wow-I would think that was so cool. Even though her resort specials are years old, I still watch them whenever they're on. I have her scripts memorized.

I love Samantha Brown. I especially love her WDW shows, it always makes me homesick when I watch. Now that I think of it, everything Disney makes me homesick

My youngest son loves Samantha, he even will watch her other shows on the Travel channel.

My eldest loves the line from the AKL show where she takes the shampoo and stuff and wants to pass it off as store bought gifts.


I taped her favoite Disney stuff show but we haven't watched it yet.

We always joke about a Samantha Brown vs. Rachel Ray "smackdown" - a one on one. In one corner there's Samantha, who has unlimited budget but seems like (yes, we realize she has a crew!) she is travelling solo with a camcorder. We joke that people must look at her and pity the lonely heart babbling on with nonsense at times. Then there's Rachel, who is penny pinching on $40/day and barely scraping by with food and entertainment. Just give her 1/2 of Samantha's food (and perhaps a bottle of olive oil) and she'll actually survive on her famished, far too frugal vacation.

Team them up (yes, once again we do realize that they are on different channels/networks) and it would make for one complete traveller!

Yep, I have noticed that she says queen bed. It's a King Sam! Sheesh!

On a very sad note....we had all of the WDW Great Hotels episodes recorded on our DVR and the WL epsiode was *somehow* deleted! (No one here is fessin' up) I sure hope they run it again someday!!!!!!!

I would love just once to see these sam brown WDW great hotel shows. Here in the UK they have NEVER been on tv. I even tried to buy these shows as DVD's from amazon, but they got deleted just before their release date. Bah!

Yes, I am currently looking for a job and someone the other day asked me what my dream job was.... I nearly said "Samatha Brown's job" But I went with something related to my field. I don't think East Tennessee sells on TV LOL!

I ran into here a few times. Never in Disney once was at Mohonk Mountain house when she was filming and then in the New York City. She was like I remember you. She was very nice.

I am the special lucky person that actually ran into her at DISNEY!!!.....OK my DH saw her first. We were at DHS this past January, the day she filmed the Tower of Terror Segment for her last Disney special Samantha's Disney Favorites. Got a pic and autograph. And yes she is as gracious in person as she comes across the TV.
