I am down 3lbs this week!! :Pinkbounc I did really well last week, until Sunday came. I had about 13 flex POINTS left and just went on a candy binge and did not count my POINTS. Since the weather is warming up I took a walk almost everyday last week. I don't walk as fast as I would like to. I have a 1 and 3yr old. I do have a double stroller but my 3yr old is way to big and heavy for it now, so he walks at a slower pace and likes to stop at EVERY stick, rock, and so on. ::yes:: But this is great for him also, he needs the excercise. :D Actually today I took a quick 25 minute walk without him (he stayed with DH) I might sneak one in everynight without him but still walk during the day with him. :sunny:

congratulations! now, i'm not advocating a candy binge every week, but i guess every now and again isn't going to hurt too badly :p

that's really great that you are getting out and walking, even if it is at ds's pace. it's good to get those kids out there, and to get that quality time, i'm sure they enjoy it :hyper: . that would be great if you coudl "sneak" in a night walk at your pace too. any way to get the exercise in is a good thing ::yes::

Good for you!! Those walks must be helping! I think we're somewhat solar-powered so just getting out into the fresh air and sunshine helps us feel better. Think of the healthy exercise habits you're teaching your kids!

GRRR!!!

Today I had dinner at my SIL house. I get so frustrated when we eat there. First of all they eat sooo late every day. At 4:30 we headed out to the store to purchase the chicken she wanted to make. We got back around 5:45 and put the chicken in the oven. I would never attempt making a whole chicken that late, because I know it won't be ready for at least and hour or so. So here I am around 7ish and I am feeling really horrible. I started to get a headache from not eating yet. The good thing was that I snacked on some carrots and celery. But I blew it at dinner. I was so hungry. She had made the chicken (she added a little oil to it), broccoli (but then added shredded cheddar cheese on it), carrots (with butter) breadsticks with oil and parmesean cheese and mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream. Everything was pretty healthy except for what she added to everything. Then for dessert we had strawberry shortcake (at 9pm mind you :rolleyes: ) Oh well tommorrow is another day. The only thing was I was saving most of Flex Points for Sunday, I have party at and Italian restaurant. I guess I will have to extra good Friday and Saturday.

I just wanted to vent! :p
 

Uggh! Sorry about that! I hate it when we're at the mercy of others! Hopefully today will be a better day for you!

man, that's really rough when you have to rely on someone else for your food. at least you did have some legal snacks to hold you over a little bit. it's really hard to have to wait that long to eat, especially when you're used to eating earlier. and as for dinner, well, seeing as that was all there was to eat, i cna't blame you. but dont' worry about it, it's over, and i'm sure you're doing fine with the rest of your meals.

that party at the italian restaurant sounds good...how'd it go? hope you had some yummy food and used your flexies :)
 
I had a pretty bad rest of the weekend. Thursday was dinner at SIL. On Friday I woke up to a swollen wrist and I could not move it. I ended up skipping breakfast, for lunch I had PB&J sandwich (DH made it for me, but I did not ask him to measure it since he was working) I then went to the walk in clinic. So I did not make dinner. I just ended up eating out. Then on saturday I did ok. We ended up going to see Home on the Range and I had a little bit of popcorn and a small bag of chips. Then on Sunday I had the dinner party at an Italian Restaurant. But after a not so great weekend I did manage to loose 1.5 LBS this week. :Pinkbounc I just hate that I have not been to Curves since last week Monday. I was suppose to go Wednesday but DH got home to late and on Friday I could not move my wrist. Today I can move my wrist alot better but it still hurts a little. I did manage to a quick 20 minute walk tonight after dinner but it was freezing out. I hope to get to Curves tommorrow or Wednesday.

I know- like someone said - it's tough when you at at "the mercy of others" My mom constantly brings Double Stuff Oreos to my house and says, "they are for the kids" I beg her not to but she won't listen- I tell her I am trying to trim the fat and she says "you don't have to eat them"
OH, But I do have to eat them, Mom. My inner-Oreo demon is a powerful little fellow!
It's like Dr. Phil says- set up a no-fail environment for yourself. (I really don't like Phil but sometime he makes sense- even a broken clock is right twice a day)
ANYWAY- Samandmom- thanks for the encouraging words you left on my journal for me- I am so encouraged when I see that you lost 15 pounds- KEEP IT UP!!!

In spite of all the obstacles, you're succeeding! Just imagine what will happen when you can stay on plan and exercise on a regular basis! That weight will be melting away!

Oh MY!!!! I have not posted to my journal in awhile. I had to go to page 2 to find my journal page. But anyways, last week I was up .5lb. This week I was up another 2lbs. I have not been on plan since Good Friday. I was then expecting TOM and wanted to eat everything in site. :rolleyes: (as Doe calls it the D-Zone) OK that's done and over with. I have moved along. I have been back on plan since Monday now. I went to Curves on Monday. Yesterday and Today we went to Six Flags so I got alot walking in. I really should try to post to my journal everyday. It might help me.

Today's menu:


B: kashi crunch and milk (4 POINTS)
L: Subway Roasted Chicken (6) baked lays (2) and munched on the kids fries. :rolleyes: I guessed (4 POINTS)
S: half of special K cereal bar (1)
D: a big bowl of lettuce topped with 2oz of chicken (2.5) refried beans (1) sour cream (.5) cheese (1) fat free pringles (1) salsa (0)

23 POINTS used (target 26)

If I post my menus maybe I can be a little more honest with what I eat. :wave:
 
Hiya Girlie! I really do find that coming here everyday keeps me on track a little bit more. You are doing great - I think we all need to write down our menus more - helps keep us more accountable.

Today went pretty good. At lunch time Sam (DD) fell asleep in her high chair so I did not want to make to much noise to make some lunch for me. (I had made the kids lunch first) I grabbed a pudding and yogurt smoothie. I started to feel horrible around 3. (I get this way when I don't eat enough) We ended up having dinner at 4:30 (which is a bit early for me) I was still not feeling too good. I debated on wether or not to go to Curves. I did end up going and felt better afterwards.

So much for me not using my 3 POINTS. :rolleyes: Since dinner was so early I was starving tonight. I had some ham and cheese (3). Oh well, I had the POINTS. I just hate that I eat so late. :wave:
 
Last night I slept horribly. Michael (DS) was sick. He kept waking up every couple of hours. We had to change the sheets a couple times. DH did watch the kids while I took a mid morning nap. I have been feeling a little ucky to my stomach all day. I am thinking it's from the FF pringles. I think I will avoid them for a while. It could also be that I am sick like Michael.
Today we went to Six Flags so I did a little walking.

Today's menu:

L: ham and cheese (3)
S: ate some of DH's ice cream I am guessing (4)
D: We went to Cracker Barell on the way back from Six Flags
I started off with a garden salad with FF Italian (0) I gave in and had 1 1/2 bisuits (7.5) with 1/2 TBSP butter (1.5) grilled chicken (6) corn (1) mashed potatoes (2) I then shared a brownie dessert with DH guessing (6)

Points used (36) target (26) used 10 FLEX

I way over guessed on dinner at Cracker Barrell. I did not finish the whole dinner! :Pinkbounc
 
I had a GREAT weigh in this morning. I lost the 2.5 lbs that I gained plus another 2. (4 total) My weight this morning was 216.5. :Pinkbounc Still .5 away from my next clippie. (I WILL get it next week) :teeth:

The kids stressed me out today. I should not let that happen but it does. Sam (DD) is at a seperation anxiety stage. She is 15 months old. I went on a slight candy binge after dinner. :rolleyes:


B: egg beaters with laughing cow cheese (2) 1 thin slice of deli ham (.5) 2 slices light rye (1)
L: WW chicken and brocoli pizza (8) ice cream sandwich (2)
D: lettuce topped with 3/4 cup of homemade turkey chili not to sure so (4?) cheddar cheese (1.5) and fat free sour cream and salsa (0)
S: my candy binge I did not keep full track of it but I know I had a (2) point marshmallow chocolate, (3) sugar cookie, then about (6) for the other chocolate (they were minis)
S: 3 slices light wheat bread (1.5) sprinkled with splenda and cinamon (0)

My neice gets sick from those ff pringles too. You are rally going strong. keep up the good work.

I maintained this week. (guess it's better than gaining.) Kinda my fault at not keeping track of my POINTS to well. I went to Curves yesterday. Today I did a 35 minute walk with just Sam and I. So I was able to walk faster without Michael.
All my weekends in May are going to be involved with lots of food . I think I will be ok as long as stick to Target Points during the week and use Flex on the weekends.

I did really good last week aside from Mothers Day. I told myself that everything I ate today accounted for 0 POINTS!!! :p See my 0 POINT day helped because I lost 1.5 lbs. :teeth: Now I FINALLY get a new clippie. I am finding myself to be satisfied with less food at each meal. :Pinkbounc I went for a walk yesterday and to Curves today.

Congratulations! That new clippie is lookin' great!! It sounds like you're getting comfortable with what works for you - eating on plan gets so much easier when you can identify where the trouble spots are and where you're doing well. All that walking and Curving is helping too!!
