HI there, we woke up this morning and decided to go Salt Lake for the weekend. To give you an idea of how often this type of thing happens in our house, Kaylee heard us talking about it from her room before she got up and by the time she came out she was packed! LOL

Anyway, I have actually never been there. We live less than 5 hours away but we always seem to go North or West but not South.

Anyway, I know what the research says, I want to know what YOU say about SLC.

Does anyone have any input for me? Things to see and do? Shoopping, restaurant etc?

Were going to take the kids so it has to be family friendly.

Ideas?

Well even if you're not interested in the Mormon religion I have heard the temple square tour is very interesting. My DH went on it when he was there on business and he grew up Southern Baptist. He still enjoyed the tour. Thats about the only non work thing he got to do though.

There is a lot of outdoor type stuff to do--Skiing, biking, hiking, but not a whole lot of other things. I also did the Temple Square thing, and agree, it was very interesting and would be kid friendly.

Thank you!

Sounds like the weather will be decent enough that we will be able to hit the zoo and several other things while we're there.

Im pretty excited about it!

Temple Square has a lot of things to do all Mormom related...we went to the visitors center; convention center (beautiful); Brigham Young's house, Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Park City is only a few miles away and they have the Olympic Training Center which is really cool.

We were very polite while at Temple Square although they will try to hound you but just politely say "Thank you but we have our own religion".

P.F. Changs in the city is quite good...we stayed in Park City but went over to the city quite a bit...streets are a little confusing because it will be 400 North or 600 West meaning the distance from Temple Square.

I can't remember the night that the choir practices (maybe Thursday?) and then they perform on Sunday and it really is something to see.

Have fun....we were there last year. Ask away if you have any more questions.

I'm about an hour north of Salt Lake. If you like to shop check out the Gateway, but bring a coat. It's all outdoors, they have the Olympic fountain, some nice places to browse in, and some good places to eat. If it was me I would probably skip the Zoo, not one the nicest zoos I've been to. I would check out Thanksgiving point, it's in Lehi (about 30 mins South of Salt Lake, right off the freeway). They have a ton to see and do there, a petting zoo, shops etc.. Also, right across the freeway from them is Cabela's, they just opened. I'm not a big outdoors girl, but they have a ton of cool things to see and there is no charge (unless you make a purchase). I'm not sure how old your daughter is but the Children's Museum in Salt Lake is fun for the younger crowd. Also, Park City is a short drive from downtown (about 30 mins) and the Olympic park is really neat, they have a tour. There are some great places to eat in Park City and wonderful outlet shopping too. If I can answer any other questions let me know. Have a great trip :) .
