Salon Mickey

Nikki, you are the 2nd person in a week who has told me a similar tale of their Salon Mickey experience, what a disappointment for you  but I'm remaining positive - I can't wait go go in there in March, but I do hope the drinks and pastries are there, especially the Mickey brioche, because I've told the rest of the family about it, not sharing my enthusiasm for "the experience", it's the promise of the drink and food that will get them there.

I'm sure Reid is right and I do think it will get worse, there will always be those that abuse a "freebie" like this.:sad2:

But DISers will always remain above such behaviour and will continue to want to see this as the truely positive experience that it is :goodvibes

That doesn't sound a good experience in Salon Mickey. I agree it isn't a particularly child friendly place - ironically, in DLRP. Not unfriendly to children either, but you do feel they need to be on their best behaviour.
My son adores SM croissants, I do hope they don't stop! Wouldn't get much money for my shares now either! Not that I could bear to part with my lovely gold card....

I think it depends which CM is on duty. The first time i visited i was told i could only bring in 3 of my children, but she would let me take all 4 in just that once. I was sure i had read that i could take 4 family members.
I visited again and we all went in with no questions.
Next time I will print out the rules from the website in case of any problems.

It's definitely 4 family members or 3 friends. I've often been told that I can only bring in 3 when it's my DH and 3 DDs I'm bringing in ~ I just ask them to check their rules and then it's apologies all round once they realise their mistake but you'd think they'd all be clear on this by now, Salon Mickey has been open long enough.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience Nikki, luckily we've had many more good times than bad in there. It is in the rules that you can't take any food or drink away with you, which seems stupid when a bottle is half-drunk already, but I've witnessed virtually the whole fridge emptied into someone's backpack before  so guess it's a case of the minority yet again spoiling it for the majority.

Likewise, most children are very well-behaved in there but when we were in there one time there was a dreadful family whose kids were climbing on all the furniture and attempting to touch all the photos and momentoes :scared1: whilst the parents just didn't care :sad2: and I couldn't even put my coffee down on the table for fear they would knock it over, they were that badly behaved. Perhaps your visit just happened on the tail end of something like this, not that it excuses the CM but makes it a little bit understandable.

Hoping you get to visit again and have a much better opinion of it next time. :grouphug:

i will go again for sure, just to check it was a one off lol but can agree about the food - we certainly never went in thinkin what shall we get, it was more a chance to sit, reflect, and have a hot drink and a cake, without gettin shoved out of the way lol but i guess there are those ppl who think theyre entitled to pinch stuff, and its a shame. was just more annoyed about her accusation about takin stuff, when we hadnt picked anything up - not even the half drunk bottle - not like we sneaked on into our bag and she caught us..... and i am sure we dont look like the sort of ppl that do it either (will check reflection later lol).

but the main thing was it was warm, and away from the crowds for a short while!
