Anyone know if the basic is a good price at $55.20? We have multiple ipads, 1st gen kindle and Fire (but can't find!!) already, thinking of picking one up as an extra if the price is good.

They had them $50 off for CyberMonday. I have seen some deals pop up for the 1st generation Fire and the readers but nothing else for the newer models.

I think it's a good price. If it had been on sale on Cyber Monday, I would have pulled the trigger. I've since decided that I want the Paperwhite w/ an Otterbox. (We're pretty rough on things ).

I know that as soon as I get either DH will constantly be "borrowing" mine...

This is a good price for the basic ereader. It is usually $69, that is what I paid in September when I had to replace my original. I had the keyboard, but decided to go cheap and this one is fine. I don't think it would be much cheaper and I would be Cautious of buying used bc they certainly don't last forever.

This time it died due to impact. I had problems before with it randomly freezing. Amazon always replaced it bc it was under warranty. They may have fixed that issue though, I had gotten my original Kindle several years ago.
