For all those interested - three of the Kindle Fire models are on sale (not the 8.9" HDX - boo) and the older model Kindle is on sale (not Paperwhite). One day only! GL!

at $139? i think we can find cheaper. anyone?
Select kindles are 20% off so the Kindle Fire 16GB is $136. The sale price doesn't show up until after you are in the page for the specific kindle you are considering.
They had them $50 off for CyberMonday. I have seen some deals pop up for the 1st generation Fire and the readers but nothing else for the newer models.Ugh, I hope it goes on sale again after the holidays!! Do they go on sale often?
We told DH's parents to get us an Amazon giftcard for Christmas so that we can buy a tablet so will be shopping for one then.
Anyone know if the basic is a good price at $55.20? We have multiple ipads, 1st gen kindle and Fire (but can't find!!) already, thinking of picking one up as an extra if the price is good.
I just wish the Kindle Fire HDX 8.5" would be included. It is always excluded and that is what DH wants. He may have to wait until after the holidays to see if they go on sale since he already has Kindle Fire HD 7".
I'm waiting patiently for the 8.5", also, sigh....
Never a sale for me
Terri

I'd like to know this too.
This is a good price for the basic ereader. It is usually $69, that is what I paid in September when I had to replace my original. I had the keyboard, but decided to go cheap and this one is fine. I don't think it would be much cheaper and I would be Cautious of buying used bc they certainly don't last forever.I'd like to know this too.

This time it died due to impact. I had problems before with it randomly freezing. Amazon always replaced it bc it was under warranty. They may have fixed that issue though, I had gotten my original Kindle several years ago.Egdisney - how did yours die? Was it natural causes or due to impact? I'm thinking I want a paperwhite, but am reconsidering the basic ereader at the current price.
