All, it is with a sad heart that I tell you my uncle passed away last night around 8PM. He was the one of the greatest men I ever meet, kind soul of a man, cared deeply for his family and he will be truly missed.

I know that he will make heaven a beautiful place.

My DH is deeply saddened by his passing, but is at peace knowing that we spent quality time with him in June.

Sorry to bring sad news to the thread.

So sorry for your loss! :sad2: My thoughts and prayers are with you, David and your family.

....laughter really IS the best medicine....see if you can find any funny pix of he and your DH, then try to recount the story behind the pix. I know that works for ME.....remembering all the good times.

You know I thank it is instinct for me to make people laugh when times are tense. For me it releases the tension in the room. My DH is pretty used to me cracking jokes to make him laugh.

We do have some great pictures and we were just looking at them and talking last night.

Thanks for the advice.

I would also like to add my vote for this year just sucks...

....that's kinda how I felt when my M-in-L passed away in April....there was a numbness and sense of 'It's finally over.' but I felt such deep sadness for my DH because, to this day, there are many unanswered questions rgarding his relationship with his mom...

For my DH, it is really like he lost his male figure, he was the eldest living male, and the one that taught my DH so much about life and love.

When we left for work this morning, my DH hugged me, and told me that he loved me, and it was different than every morning when he does it, it was very charged emotionally, like he wanted to cling forever, almost like a kid, not wanting to let go, it was very hard and sad at the same time.

I'm so sorry to hear this news Brandi. Hugs to you and David. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May you both find strength in each other and in the fact that you did get to see your beloved uncle recently. Keep that picture in your mind - of the happy times - and he will live on in your hearts forever.

I am so sorry for your loss, Brandi:hug: Tell your husband we're thinking of him:grouphug:

Laura, Jen and Kathy, Thanks :grouphug:

...time heals all, my friend - time heals all.

[...BTW, my DH did the SAME thing, at the funeral...sometimes those unspoken moments speak the loudest.]

It's my Friday to bring the Zebra Domes. Hopefully these will cheer us up (at least for a minute):

...got these bay-bees outta the fridge - yes, I know it's only Thursday, but I would be here tomorrow, so I thought we could celebrate a little bit earlier....;)

Kimmar - you won't be with us on Friday? :sad1:

Well, nothing wrong with having Zebra Domes a day early! ;)

Brandi, what a lovely picture. Thanks for sharing! :cloud9:

I'm so sorry Brandi. It is so difficult to lose someone you love. Keep all the good times and memories close to you heart. You and David will be in our thoughts and prayers and let me know if I can do anything.

Thanks for posting the photo of him and your MIL - looks like they were having a lot of fun that night.

Brandi - I am so sorry to read of your uncle's passing. The numbness will wear off. Then the grieving will really begin. And then the healing. I pray for strength until that happens.

"God gave us memory so that we may have roses in December." May your memories and the love he shared with you comfort you.

Brandi,
Let me please offer my thoughts, prayers and condolences during this difficult time.
Thank you for the beautiful photo.

Oh Brandi - so sorry to hear this news. Big Hugs to you and David - I am glad though that you got to spend time with him in June. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Morning all - big hugs to everyone!!! Hope it is a good day for all!!! :flower3:

Laura - Sorry I missed Tori's B-day yesterday - hope it was wonderful!!!!

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. "The adventure has begun" and the kids are having a blast with the grandparents. I have decided for some strange reason sleep is not needed today. :rolleyes1 So I am up surfing the web. Gonna hate life later:headache::rolleyes:

Have Fun!!!

Have a great time at the world! Sleep is crucial but all will be well. May each step you take exponentially cover you days in pixie dust.

I will be at Jambo House (for the first time in AKL) in 10 days!

No communication when I am there to prevent the "real" world from seeping into my fantasyland!

Happy 18'th

Get well soon.

Delve those two comments to the deserving parties.

And lastly

Love to all.

Kyle :cheer2:

YAY on your trip!!! You'll love it!

The best thing is to just hold on to each other, be there for each other and be strong for him, I find it beautiful in times like these when the pure love for each other comes through and you know just how much you mean to each other, not that you don't in other times, but that raw emotion is so powerful and bonding, you know what I mean. It is hard, I know, but also know that the strength you gain from it will see you both through this tough time. Know we are here for you as well and tell David we are all sending him our warm thoughts and prayers - and you too!!!
