Well they are doing some construction on the floor in front the stairway to Boma and the elevators in that area. I can post pictures if you would all like of the walls and the area.

If you'd believe it-- I didn't see this until the day we left!

And I haven't got there in my TR yet.. but since so many of you are going, I thought I'd chip in my 2 cents.

In the Mara, there was a CM named Hadiatu (told me her name was Hadi) who was SO sweet. I got lunch for DH and I... she told me where the lids/bags were while I was getting ketchup and mustard.. next thing I know, she's brought me two lids, and two to go ramekins for the k&m. Chatted a little, then I went on trying to get everything ready... including finding a lid for my lemonade.

Found a coffee lid that --kind of-- fit, which resulted in it getting spilt all over the floor, (thankfully not on anyone.) She came over and started to clean it up. I felt horrible, offered to help, but she wouldn't let me.

Saw her again the day we left, DH was with me this time. She was just as sweet, and found us some lids when DH came up with the wrong side.

A little sad, fairly sure she was on the college program, so I doubt I'll see her next year. If anyone sees her, say hi! I doubt she'd remember me. But, she's a sweetheart.

Our housekeeping ladies were sweet too. Chatted with them a couple mornings. Couldn't believe their good moods for the time they must wake up....

Hello everyone only a few days left at AKL then we are home

I haven't posted a photo of Bob in a while, so since you are all asking I am going to. He has a new task he is working on. Not bad for a guy who 6 months ago was not supposed to survive the week! (please note the skinny legs.... hard to believe I have put 14 pounds on him since the middle of June!)

and just so we stay on topic: the last time we were at AKL he wore this outfit and his tummy stuck out of the shirt a bit.

Just got off my shift at DAKL driving the shuttle today back and forth and back and forth and back! And forth! haha it's actually one of my favorite things to do. We have some construction going on. Was that already posted? Probably but I'm too lazy to look back at the posts.

We are all packed and ready to go. Just a few short hours and we will be leaving for the airport and hopefully be arriving at AKL around 5:30pm. We are all so very excited...

Have a great trip! We'll be right behind you! Getting excited every day! I'm taking my new Nikon for photos. I little worried about carrying it since it's a bit heavy but the photos will be well worth it! Also taking the zoom lens for resort shots!

I apologize if these have been asked before, but I didn't read through everything (There are A LOT of pages on this thread!)...

1. Is there a microwave in the room? I noticed this on the first page, but I wasn't sure if it was only the DVC rooms.

2. What time does the pool close? I know most close at 12, but I wasn't sure because of the animals.

1. Only villas have microwaves; regular rooms do not.

2. I believe the lifeguards leave around 10, which is when the pool officially "closes" (could vary depending on the seasons). But the pool is not fenced or gated. If you're quiet and don't disturb other guests, you can use the pool even when "closed."

No microwaves in the resort rooms, just DVC. As for the pool... according to AllEars the Uzima pool is open 24 hours, but the lifeguards go off duty at 10:00 PM and the slide also closes. The two spas close at midnight.

I'm finally here! Had a great time on my quick trip to WDW
We got to BCV, they wished us Happy Anniversary and gave us the pins We didnt bother to tell them we aren't married yet, its the anni of when we started dating
Even though it was only about 10:30am, the nice CM at the desk made a phone call and gave us a room
Headed to Epcot, walked around and drank around WS
Had dinner @ Biergarten around 6:30, the food was good..The table mates, meh....Family on one side, husband and teenagers never talked, barely ate, wife was ok but she seemed embarrassed by her family, I guess
And on the other side was a young girl and her dad..He had 2 of the liter beers And they weren't staying on property, hope they made it home in one piece.
We were so tired, we didnt even make it fo Illuminations We sat @ the lounge @ BC instead to get out of the heat.
Friday,we did more walking around & drinking around WS...Our ME was about 35 minutes late but the line through security was fine, we had time to stop and get a quick dinner at the aiport.
Flight was delayed a little and we didnt land until 12:30am, and I had to be up at 5:50 to go to work...I'm just starting to recover

Hey!!!! I'm glad it was a good trip!!! DH LOVES Biergarten - it's on our ADR list - was it good? We've always thought the food was good. It stinks your flight was delayed.......... Glad you had fun!!!

Can you fit one of those TALL water bottles in the AKL (non DVC) fridge? I like to have some water cold for the mornings...
With DD those tall bottles with the sport tops work best.
Like the 23.7 oz sport bottles? Odd question... just starting to think about my packing trip!

Afternoon Jamborini's and Kidanites!!!

I gotta tell ya, there is nothing better than laying out by the pool with DH, while DS plays in the pool, yard work done, smoking ribs and chicken on the smoker, nice music - knowing my other boys are fine and my dil's are fine and happy, that my dil is 12 weeks preggers - life is good and I'm happy - I am so blessed and I sincerely appreciate it.

That is the life. Enjoy it.

We actually do consider the pools 24/7 at DAKL, but when the lifeguards go off duty the slides close. That's the only "closing" the pool does, however, outside of weather and cleaning closing of course.

Are the refrigerators different in DVC than the regular rooms? I also heard that there is a toaster and microwave. Is that correct for all DVC rooms?
