The pool view rooms at AKL are wonderful! I prefer to have my room on the 3rd floor (lobby level) and I prefer Giraffe Trail for a better view (some of the pool view rooms have a roof view of the restaurants) - and it's an easy escape to the buses -- there are exit doors you can use; midway, between the two pods of rooms. That door isn't marked from the outside and you need your room key to enter the building that way. :thumbsup2

And I agree with you about the Zebra Domes.

Cool thanks for the Tip, are the balcony views pretty good or are they pretty blocked with trees?

We are now on a waiting list for upgrading to the concierge level just for one night Sept 11. Its our anniversary.

We are also on the waiting list to add one more day on Sept 17. Hoping that we get this.:cloud9:

I think it depends on the floor level, but the time we stayed in a pool view room, it was a clear view of the pool. BTW, there are lots of viewing spots around the resort, so you will get an opportunity to "view" away.

OK, it's official I managed to rent points to stay 5 nts in a standard studio at Kidani Nov. 11-16:dance3:!!! I'm now trying to work out airfare arrangements using some FF miles, which is always tricky - since the dates and miles never line up:confused: but I think I am going to be able to make it work. Originally nothing was available at AKL but we waitlisted and got lucky. I love AKL Jambo and that is where I really wanted to stay, so I am hoping Kidani will be as nice. What pieces of wisdom can you Kidani lovers share? Thanks.

Hi Allison!

As of now the plan is to be at Epcot the day you ladies arrive (10/27, correct?) and that night we might go over to DHS to see Fantasmic. What time do you get in on Thu? Friday we were planning to go back to DHS in the AM and then go to DTD in the evening. While I have a plan laid out, I also decided that if F&W keeps calling my name we might change plans so I can gorge on tasty food and drink!

I was so excited to see updated F&W info; can't believe the final info won't be available until Aug 12. I don't think we're doing any lunches, dinners, or parties since we already have a Sunrise Safari, Dine with an Animal Specialist at Sanaa, and an Illimunations fireworks boat reserved but maybe a few deminars would be fun.

Our plan (we will wake up Thurs. at Universal) is to hit early entry and do anything we missed the day before at HP land. When all the other people start to fill up the park, we will head back, check out and drive to the BCV. Depending on whether or not our room is ready, we'll either hit the kiosks for lunch or go grocery shopping. That might be a nice time that we would both be at Epcot. Our only plans Thurs. are to check in, get groceries and hit the kiosks, so we're real flexible that day. Unless we end up doing one of the three dinners going on that night.

Friday we'll return the rental car in the morning and hopefully do the French Regional lunch. We plan on doing the 3D Desserts party Friday night. Perhaps on Thurs. we could meet up and stroll around Epcot and enjoy some of the booths for a bit. That sounds fun!

It sure sounds like you have some great experiences booked. You should have a great time!

I hope all our soon-to-be-on-the-road travelers have terrific trips! :goodvibes

I am hoping our waitlist for Kidani comes through too. Congrats on having enough FF miles and the time to work it all out!

Hello to all,

We had a lovely pool view room on the 4th floor, Zebra trail. It was very close to the elevator, which made it convenient for the refillable mug run. I was afraid that it would be loud, but with the balcony doors closed we couldn't hear a thing from the pool area. We had a nice, clear view of the pool, and enjoyed our balcony immensely.

Congratulations on your marriage, and enjoy!
