I looked at the first one but gave up after a while.
I'm doing the Passporter contest now - it's challenging but not too hard.

I gave up too. It was taking me too long to find the pictures on the site.

Yup.

Took me about 30 min to find them all. I think the toughest was one of the restaurants.

I decided to give it a whirl too. Looks like fun, but I bet they are going to get harder as the contest goes on, don't you?

So now my solo trip has turned into taking my mother to the AKV. This will be my first time going home as we just got DVC. I had to change my dates from Nov to Sept due to her availabilty. So now I had to change from a savanna view to a standard view. I am really bummed. Is it possible to look at a pool or is it parking lot? Are the views that bad????

We had a pool view room booked for our May trip but had to downgrade to standard view, as we needed to add an extra day, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of two separate reservations. Luckily, we were upgraded to a savannah view at check-in. Now, if I'd paid savannah view price, I may not have been happy with this particular view, but we felt it was a great location. My point being...maybe you will be upgraded...BUT if you are not, we have also stayed in a standard parking lot view and found it delightful. African music from the balcony, observing the comings and goings of guests and a short walk to all of the amenities. I don't think you can go wrong with any room at AKL.

MMrules - If you're staying on points don't count on an upgrade, from everything I've read, it's rare or almost never that upgrades occur. They are booking classes and not hotel rooms. Are you on the wait list for a SV? You could have two going at one time so you could do one for Jambo and one for Kidani. It can't hurt.

That does not necessarily follow. In January we had a standard view studio booked on points. We just needed somewhere to sleep. We arrived in Orlando from the UK late afternoon and left again first thing in the morning to go on our Panama Canal cruise. We just wanted somewhere to sleep for a night. The only thing that was available on relative short notice was Jambo House. I had no problem with this as I love AKL and this meant a meal at Boma as well. I was very surprised when we got to check in and were told we had a room overlooking sunset savannah. It was just a shame that we did not really have time to enjoy our view. About 30 minutes after we got to our room, the sun set and by the time the sun rose again, we were already on the bus back to the airport.

They've reclassified a few DVC savannah view rooms at both Kidani and Jambo to standard view since they weren't the best savannah. I've gotten standard view studios at both locations this year that had savannah views so you might luck out. At Kidani the reclassified rooms are just past the pool area.

Good news today! I'm the one that posted who purchased from ebay and the seller disappeared. A friend who also bought from the seller just checked in today with his reservation at the AKL Jambo House...poolside room! It's looking postive for us too! We visit Aug 7th!
These days are going to fly for us too. My son is playing All Star Baseball in July. We just came in first play rec ball and he's in a tournament with his travel team finishing tomorrow! 8 games in 6 days!

Well this is a little bit encouraging. Since I will have my mom with me, it is nice to have a balcony to sit on while the other gets ready. I did see pics of the bus stop rooms and to be honest they weren't so bad. I will take a palm tree over most other views anyday. I will keep my thumbs crossed and get on the waitlist too
