Not sure of the walking time, but it would be a hike from one end to the other!!

Even numbered rooms are savannah view. I stayed in a 1 bedroom (# 7534) which was on the 5th floor; midway between the lobby and Jambo, by the Zazu Elevator. Great location but I would have rather been on a lower floor (closer view of the animals!) on Sunset Savannah.

The half closer to Jambo is more convenient for the buses and getting to Jambo; the newer half is closer to the pool and Pembe Savannah (which I'm not familiar with).

Then Pembe Savannah view must be the odd numbered rooms further out from the lobby.

Would that be a good request for the main building? Sorry this is our first visit to AKL not sure of the buildings and how its all laid out. The girls and I are going in July, and I would prefer to be close to the bus stop, but didn't pay for any upgraded rooms.

If you have pool view or standard view...I always request Giraffe trail, since it's an easier shot to the bus stop. You'll have to walk a little bit to go see the animals in one of the more public viewing areas...but not at all far.

If you had savannah view...my usual request for Jambo has been:

Zebra trail, Arusha savannah view, close to the elevators.

Assuming you get it, it gets you the best (IMHO) savannah view at Jambo and puts you close to the elevators down to the pool.

Either way, Chances are not bad..but "near the lobby" is a popular request because it puts you near both the theme park transportation AND an easy entrance (via elevator) to the pool area. Assuming your trip is the one referenced in your counter....I'd say chances are even better because it's not real busy.

We walked the entire interior of the resort, from one end to the other in about 15 minutes...maybe a couple minutes longer. We're fast walkers, though.

I can't remember which side is odd and which is even...I'll check the scrapbook to see if I can ferret out our room number from our last trip. We were on the Pembe Savannah (front) side of the resort.

For the whole resort...tip of one end all the way to the tip of the other. We were looking for an evening "constitutional" after dinner at Saana, and it was POURING rain, outside.

I'm one of those folks who likes both views. Lower is closer/more intimate, higher is more panoramic.

It's not just the hogs....but I can't remember if there were giraffes or not. I'll review our pictures and let you know. There were okapi, though, and some other herd beast(s) (impala and waterbuck, I think). Definitely a lot more than just the hogs.

Assuming you want Lake view...you should be fine in May at 7 months. Magic Kingdom view or standard view....probably not.
