Oh boy! I am super excited for all of you first-time cruisers! I wish my first Disney cruise was a 7-nighter! I tried a land/sea 3 night cruise back in 2007 with a friend to see if I would like it---I am afraid of water---and heights---but love Disney and the price was right in early February---I am now hooked for life! My husband Tom and I weren't blessed with children and we are asked all of the time---why Disney? and we say that we are kids at heart and we do like the way the cast members treat the guests. And we cruise for the BINGO games! Highly entertaining! Oh, and Castaway Cay is the only place on earth where I can totally relax---those magical swaying hammocks---and pixie dust laden pina coladas. I completely forget about how rough it is to be a Fed;-)
Be sure to take the tour of the ship---you learn all sorts of facinating facts about the ship---especially the carpets!
Don't try to do everything! I don't think it is possible anyway.
Take lots and lots of pictures and videos---keep a journal if you are so inclined---write down the names of cast members who did something special and when you get your survey on the last night don't forget to mention them.
Pick up the Mickey Mouse shaped confetti and carry it around like good-luck pixie dust charms---seeing that in my wallet when it is a gloomy grey winter day always lighten my mood!
Ask for extra character luggage tags at guest services---they make wonderful additions to scrapbooks or cute free! items to bring back for other people.
The biggest suggestion I have is if you think that you may want to take another Disne cruise----book a dummy date cabin for the onboard perks!
I look forward to meeting you all
Susan
