Sailing the Ocean Blue...October 6, 2012 Eastern Fantasy

Just dropping in to say:wave2:
Question: My dd11 will be turning 13 while we are on the cruise. I would like to get something special signed by the characters for her at guest services. The last time we cruised I did a photo mat for her. I don't think a pillowcase or tote bag would be exciting for her. (She has plenty of tote bags) I thought about the white vinylmation that they are talking about on another thread. She bought a couple of them on our last trip to WDW. A t-shirt she would probably just wear around the house or maybe a few places. Not to school or anything. Doesn't wear hats. What do ya'll think? Can you recommend anything that would be neat and a good memory piece? Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Melanie

Hi Melanie, are you thinking about the larger of the vinylmation? I think that would be cool. I also have a couple of ideas: a pair of white canvas sneakers with the characters signing with different colored markers, a hoodie, and a hard cover copy of her favorite Disney themed book with the characters signing the inside blank pages. Hopefully others who are way more creative than me will come along and give you some more ideas.

I think so. The 9"? That is what everyone has been talking about. I like the favorite Disney book too with the signatures. That would be a cool gift. I have no idea which book I would do because she likes them all. I guess I could buy one of those that have a lot of stories in it so it wouldn't matter about which characters sign? Everything is Selena Gomez and Victoria Justice now. So she has kind of outgrown the characters some:sad1:

Hi, I am just worried that my post about the meet got buried, if anybody is interested in a meet, let me know. I am trying to get an idea on how many people are interested and after I have head count we can figure out where we can set up a meet.

Has anyone played Bingo on the cruise? Was it fun? I see that they have paper and electronic cards, I was wondering how much they were. Thanks for any info.

I've never played and don't know how much it costs? I know it wasn't worth me playing so it must have been a little high.(I was probably thinking I'd rather be buying pictures or souvies) But, when I have been in there or looked in on a game, there are quite a few people in there. I'm sure it would be alot of fun.

I would love to try Bingo on the ship, but if I do I would do the electronic version since I am getting older and cannot keep up manually :rotfl2:

Yes on my other Disney Cruises it looked like they were having a blast. I also think that the cards were kind of pricey. DH and I usually spend alot of time by the pool and this cruise I would like to try some new things with Dsis.

I cannot wait to play Bingo with you while your DH sits by the pool and my DH goes to cooking seminars.

Yeah, blame it on age or the kid.

No she will not be distracting me while I am playing Bingo....it will definately be the age thing....she will be in the Oceaneer's Club having a blast.:cool1:

Hi Everyone,

We are back from a GREAT vacation!! I am sorry to let you know that we will not be sailing on this cruise after all. We decided while onboard to go on the Thanksgiving Cruise!! Enjoy,, your trip!!

Sorry I have not been on in a little while, basement got flooded from Irene and have been dealing with that.

Additionally, Since we lost our FE Exchange person, I am volunteering to organize it if anybody is interested in participating.

Thanks TaTa4Now. I hope you didn't have too much damage.

Thank you MickeyMinnieMelanie, looks like we lost everything in our basement/garage and we have to replace all drywall and insulation. It is going to be a lot of hard work but we will get past this and move on. I just have to focus on the cruise to keep my mind off of it. :)

Hi Susan....

I am Susan also! but i like Sue!! :) I live in Reisterstown MD and I am Mike's Mom!
Nice to meet you and look forward to chatting till we meet on the Fantasy! I am going on my first cruise on the Dream, Sept 11!! So excited that it is finally here!

Sue

Sorry for the delay. Lots going on. Not often there are 'neighbors' on the cruise. Can't wait to hear about the Dream. Wow it's just a little over a week away. Have a great time and take lots of pictures and let us know how the new ship is.

First we are going to VB, Then the Dream, then WDW!!:cool1:[/QUOTE]

Very relaxing!

What seating did everybody choose for "Sailing The Ocean Blue?"

Late or second.

Here is the Stateroom Door sign for our cruise.

Great! How do you make the door magnet?

Yes Jordak is awesome. He did quite a few designs for us on our past cruise. Critter - have fun! Thanks for the link. It looks like you are going to have a beautiful day. Make sure you take notes to share with all of us. I am curious about the sail away party. They seemed to have 2 in the past but now have 1. Where is the best place to be a part of it and what is the best place to observe? We have only been on the Magic and Wonder a little bit nervous about a ship double in size and all of the people to fill it.
Have a great trip!

We have been on the Wonder and Magic so many times it feels like home. I get a little nervous everytime I think about the size of the ship. I'm interested to hear what people that have sailed the smaller ships think about the bigger ship and the comparison.

Disney_Alli, DH and I and our parents all have second seating, I just couldn't see any of us being ready for dinner at 5:30 the late dining just seemed like it would work better for us all.

Hope to see you there!

We usually play bingo and it's lots of fun. The electronic version was like $40 for one unit.

Susan, You can either print it out on magnetic paper sold at staples or print it out on card stock and put magnetic strips on the back of the card stock. To download the pic you will right click the pic and save it to your hard drive and print out the full size of the pic.

I hope that helps you out. If you need any more help, please let me know.

So sorry about the flooding TaTa4now1968:( Glad that your family was safe!

Thank you very much. Our family was very fortunate with a lot of help from the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Dept., if it wasn't for their trash pump, we would have been in a lot of trouble.
