Sailing the Ocean Blue...October 6, 2012 Eastern Fantasy

We just got back from WDW also. HUGE SURPRISE!! Okay so just turned 40 last week. For my 40th birthday, my dh and dd's surprised me with a trip to WDW. I had one day to get ready!:scared1: Everything went ok though. They did all of the reservations for the hotel and dining. DD16 made all of the dining reservations and we ate supper in Cinderella's castle on my birthday. Don't know how she managed to get that reservation 2 mths before arrival. DD16 also made me 2 t-shirts and dining invitations from the creative disboards. She said she wanted to do some of the things for me that I have always done for them. The flower and garden festival was beautiful. I agree with the other post. Fantasyland is going to be amazing!! Can't wait to see it October 2013. I took some pictures of the working progress but don't know how to post them. I was able to ride the Snow White ride twice. It will be gone next year:( I will miss it. Everything was wonderful except that my dd12was sick 2 days at the hotel vomiting and diarrhea so my dh and her missed Epcot and AK:( My family's the BEST!!!

MickeyMinnieMelanie, lucky you.....I wish I could get a surprise like that :thumbsup2. It seems like your DD16 had it all together with planning...you have taught her well:cool1:

I love the Flower & Garden Festival, much for than the Food and Wine Fest.

Sorry to hear the your DD12 got sick while there, that really stinks :sad1: I am sure you will make up for it on the cruise:)

My sister will be going down in June for her birthday as well (I will not say her age, since she would kill me) and I am soooooo jealous :sad2:

If you want to post pics, you need to create a photo bucket account, upload them and you will see an option to copy the hmtl link (I believe, I always forget and always preview my post to see if the pic shows up and make sure I have the right link) when you go to post on the DIS you will see a globe with a link, click on that and insert the link. Hope this helps:cheer2:

Woo Hoo :woohoo: We just booked our airfare...one more thing off of our checklist :cool1: DSis and I could not wait anymore and went for it...so scared :scared1: the flights were going to go up more.

Good plan. :thumbsup2 There is 6 of us, so it's cheaper for us to drive and share the gas bill. I figure it will take us about 100 to 120 gallons of gas to get there and back. Worst case, that's about $500 (@ $4/gal) for gas split 3 maybe 4 ways, plus 1 night hotel rooms down & back. Even if gas is close to $5/gal by then, :scared1: it's still cheaper than flying and renting a van for 6 of us!!

Coming from Upstate NY, it is better to pay a little more on the airfare than driving....did that a couple of times and I do not have the patience to ride in a car for that long (my husband would be strapped to the roof LOL)....I remember years ago, when Southwest has $59 one-way flights to MCO....the good old days:banana:, well at least with Jetblue we have assigned seats, tv, radio and halfway decent snacks.

I would be tempted to try JetBlue but they don't fly to Nashville... :sad2:

I agree. We would love to fly but for the 4 of us including disney transfer, it will be $1600:scared1: That's almost a whole other vacation.

My palm tree finally decided it was time to go to the beach. Any old beach just isn't good enough though!! :teeth:

Hi, I am just worried that my post about the meet got buried, if anybody is interested in a meet, let me know. I am trying to get an idea on how many people are interested and after I have head count we can figure out where we can set up a meet.

Would love to meet up..
