if I want to sit on our balcony and be on the side that sees the Statue of Liberty, do I pick the Starboard side?

Thanks

Yes. But try to get out on deck. The view from the port side is pretty spectacular too.

Personally I was underwelmed by the Statue Of Liberty ( we were a little far away). But we went up on deck in the front of the ship when we went under the bridge
(Verrazano Narrows?) It was amazing. I was so surprized at how fast the ship was moving and how close we felt to the bridge.

When going down the Hudson River if you want to see the SOL you would want to be on the Starboard side. When coming back up the Hudson River you would want to be on the Port side.

Here are some of my pics going under the VN bridge and some other NYC pics. Above poster was right as in you don't pass that close to Ellis Island and the SOL. It helps if you have a zoom lens for your camera or a pair of binoculars.

Here is a video I found on Youtube from a different cruiseline. Still very cool. Be sure to be on the top deck at the front of the ship.

Nice video! On the Emerald Princess we went under the Oresund bridge and that was awesome too.
