Sailing out of Miami but flying into Fort Lauderdale

We did this. We got in late so stayed in Fort Lauderdale at the Holiday Inn Express using their free airport shuttle to get there. To get to the port, we pre-booked with SAS and the driver was right on time, no issues. Have fun!

The time we cruised out of Miami but flew out of FLL, because our flight home was not until 5pm, we also arrived at the airport very early after our cruise. We were flying SW and they did not accept luggage at the counter that early for an evening flight. But we were able to check our bags outside at the curb checkin. The line was long but at least we didn't have to lug all of our luggage (and we had alot) around all day. The line moved fairly fast and we were able to check our bags and then went into the airport and waited for our flight. But other posters are correct in that the FLL airport is not the best when you have to wait for a flight. When we got to our gate, it was very crowded (the whole airport was extremely crowded) and it took us a while to find seats (there were 4 of us).

We flew into FLL the night before. We stayed at the Hyatt House (Hyatt Place across the street, both have free shared shuttle). Enjoyed a complimentary breakfast. Jiffy Jeff picked us up in the AM and we were on our way to the Port of Miami, and in the terminal before boarding even began. It was seamless. Jiffy Jeff picked us up as well, and went directly to the airport. We have two kids and Jiffy Jeff has a car seat and booster for us (we asked ahead about the car seat, booster was always available, I believe). Super nice, huge Mercedes van.
