I could really use some help here. I have a reservation for the Nov. 3 sailing on the Wonder for 2005. My husband and I may want to switch to the Aug. 25 sailing. What is it like sailing in August as opposed to November? What about hurricane season in August. I need to make an informed decision asap as the dates for the sailings are selling out. What do you think? I was also thinking of switching to Nov. 10 sailing. Bottom line, I can't keep the Nov. 3 and need to choose between Aug. 25 and Nov. 10. What do you all think? Please help!! :confused3

my bias is towards Nov 10 since that's my birthday :teeth:

Seriously though, I'd prefer Nov over Aug because (1) Aug is prime hurricane season, and (2) Aug will be HOTTER and much more HUMID than November.

Thanks for your opinion, ivanova. :cheer2: Anybody else? I really need some input. Are there any good reasons to choose August over November?

August would be hotter and probably more expensive. I would pick Nov. over August.

I would opt for November 10

August = extra hot and extra expensive

We chose November because of the minimal risk of Hurricanes, and after reading all of the dissappointed cruisers trial and trauma after Jeanne and the other dilemas I am glad we did!!!

Thanks for your replies! :sunny: I decided to go with the Nov. 10 sailing. I booked a category 9. We are on deck 2 and have a forward room, 2014. Will we hate this location? Please advise.

Hi wdwfan,
I really don't have much advice but I just wanted to say that we are on the Nov 10 sailing also. We are booked in a cat 9-room 2076.

We sailed on August 21, 2004 Eastern Caribbean and loved it. It was a special itinerary that took us to San Juan, PR. We had no issues with hurricanes and personally I think last year was an anomaly.

DCL rates actually go down in late August because it is not peak season. The rational is that children are back to school in most parts of the country by late August so the rates are discounted.

We have always sailed in July and August and enjoy it very much, but this year since the Magic will be in LA we are sailing over Thanksgiving (how ironic for this thread) so we will get to see what it is like to sail in November.

Our favorite rooms are forward, Deck 2!!!! :cool1:
