How much do the drinks cost at the sailaway party and what do they have. Will they fix you whatever you want??

I'm an iced tea drinker myself, but it seems that there were servers circulating with trays of a pre-made adult beverage. I got the impression that there was one specific mixed drink being offered at the sail away party (Bahama Mama?). Not sure if any of the ship's bars would be open at that time so that you could buy something different.

I know the "drink of the day" was offered at a special price 'cause my DH would check the Navigator each day and order that day's special beverage at dinner. It cost less than the approximate $5 (?) for other drinks.

The drinks they carry around are bahama mamas. They put a shot in them once when you order them. I think they were $7 or 8. Last cruise I'm almost positive the bar in the adult pool area was open to make any type of drink you want or for beer.

you can hit Goofy's Pool bar too, the sail away drinks are full of melted ice and really watered down!

Sorry you got melty drinks, Lillygator! We've always stuck with the ones they circulate with - whatever they're called: half Strawberry Daiquiri and half Pina Colada, I think. I'm sure there's a name for the combination. [Is it a Miami Vice, or does the use of strawberry daiquiri change the name?] They were always icy for us.

I think they called that a "Bon Voyage". My wife insists I make them for her at home now. Not easy with only 1 blender.

Lately, I've been getting lazy and just making the Pina Colada and then floating some Strawberry Daquiri mix on top.

Last september hte drinks were $3.95 plus 15% tips were added. Drinks that came with souvenir cupsor glasses ere a little more. You can have whatever you want made if you do not like what they are walking around with.

What are the souvenier cups like? I went on a short carnival cruise once and if I remember correctly the 'drink of the day' came in a souvenier cup that was a different color each day. What are the DCL ones like???

They're your typical plastic, hurricane glass. If I'm not mistaken they do have different colors.

Last time we cruised...the souviner glasses were plastic hurricane glasses that had the DCL logo on them...they come in a variety of colors...Yellow, Pink, blue, clear, salmon..... I think if you saw a particular color you wanted you could ask for that.

The 1/2 pina colada 1/2 strawberry dac is a Miami Vice :goodvibes And they are YUMMY:banana:

I don't remember the exact price...but the special of $3.95 sounds ALOT closer than the $7-8. There area a few drinks that are priced up that high...but not the specials...like the sail a way drink.

since they are walking around with these do you need to have cash on you or do they somehow take a room card? I can't imagine not needing cash anywhere!

I know there have been a few prices floating around about the drinks, but is this the price for the drinks in the souvenier cups too? I remember on my cruise last year (Norwegian) a souvenier cup with drink cost $10.35. I was like :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

If said drink is only $5 with souvie cup, I'm ALL IN!!!!!

You just give your room number!
Go steady though....They are a bit 'moreish' so you could end up with a large drinks bill at end of cruise!!:sail:

We use ours all the time. They're a great reminder of the fun we had on board! :cloud9:

I have one from a Carnival Cruise a few years back and my kids fight over it!;) I have a feeling the DCL ones will be FAR more popular!

Lisa - Are those your kittens in your sig??? ADORABLE!!! We are cat freaks.
