SAHM's when do you get dressed

I try to shower and get dressed at some point before noon. Usually.

Some days (especially in the winter months, like now) I am just lazy. Not planning on going anywhere so I may just put on clean sweats and a t-shirt after I shower and I lounge around all day in them. It doesn't bother me if someone drops by and I'm in sweats. This is my home, if they didn't call first, they can take me as I am or leave. :rotfl:

I know I should just get it done early in the morning so it's out of the way, but I'm a big procrastinator.

I sometimes let my hair air dry, but most times blow it dry and run a curling iron over it quickly even if I'm just staying home for the day. I don't wear make-up so don't have to bother with that.

Not a SAHM, but I work from home. Somedays I will throw my carharts on over my pajamas to work around the barn. Makeup? What's makeup?

Today is a fairly typical day. Jeans and a fleece pullover. No makeup. Hair is a wreck but it's been under a knit cap all day while I'm out in the freezing cold working with the horses.

I shower and dress before the kids get up every day. If I'm not going anywhere and doing a lot of cleaning, it's comfy clothes. I usually put on make up, but I don't wear much make up. As for my hair, only a few times a year do I do anything more than blow dry it.

Our family does nightly showers instead of the morning. dh gets up at 4:30am to be at work by 6am (we live 45min from his work). The 4 older kids and I get up at 5:30am. I make them breakfast while they are getting ready for school. Bus comes at 6:35am. After the 4 of them leave, I will go back to bed for a couple hours while dd3 is still sleeping. Get her up, dressed and breakfast. If I have to be somewhere, I will put on jeans and a long sleeve shirt or t-shirt. If I don't I just wear sweats or capris with socks and long sleeve shirt or t-shirt. No make-up exept powder unless I am going somewhere special. I have natural curly hair, so I will usually straighten that and kinda do something with it. Don't really fuss with it to much unless I have to go somewhere.

Its definitely easy to let the clothes, hair and make-up go out the window when you are a sahm. :rolleyes1 I have been one for 13+ years now.

I am "letting myself go to pot"!! I rarely dry my hair, I sometimes slap some foundation and mascara on. My poor DH. Right now, we just decided to go to the Olive Garden for dinner. I just jumped out of the house and am wondering if I should bother drying my hair!

Shower, get dressed, hair and makeup everyday. If I workout first thing in the morning I do all that afterwards. If I workout in the middle of the day I wind up doing it twice.

This is me as well :thumbsup2 Even if I'm going to be lounging around the house in yoga pants and a tank top, I have to have a shower and blow dry my hair. I usually always wear make-up. I love my time alone in the bath and getting ready afterwards, so I make time for it every day - unless I'm not feeling well. Even then, I'll grab a quick shower.

my kids wake up at 7:30...I am in the shower by 7:45-8, I get dressed(yoga pants/lounge pant and a long sleeve shirt ) makeup, hair straightened and perfume:goodvibes I do leave to take her to school in the morning

Where are you kids, specifically the toddlers, when you are showering? Maybe I just need to find a better place for DS!

I bring mine in the shower with me... popcorn:: Am I the only person on earth who've never worn makeup? Oh and I need a haircut so my hair is always ALWAYS in a pony tail right now.. its very long (almost the small of my back) and annoying and my 1yr old likes to pull...

I always locked him in his room with baby gate door open, movie on and showered fast lol. Sometimes, I would do the same in my room, but set him up with a sippy cup and a movie in my bed. If he screamed, OH WELL, Mommy needs to be clean!

When my kids were toddlers (all close in age), I would shower at the end of the night and blow dry my hair. In the morning, I'd freshen up my hair, put on my make up and go!

I still do light make up, hair, and a nice outfit everyday...just feel better about myself when I do!

This is part of the reason I shower at night.

Also, I like to be clean when I get into bed. I always wonder if people go to bed without a shower and then need to shower in the morning aren't their sheets dirty? :confused3 Maybe I've just inherited my mom's cleaning issues.

I often brought them in the shower with me when they were really little, but I would still shower at night and then hand them off to DH to dry and dress while I finished my shower/shave.

SAHgrandmother here - LOL..

I get dressed ASAP - within minutes of being up.. I never wear make-up, so that doesn't apply.. Even when I was younger I was never comfortable lounging around in my pj's - had to get dressed right away..:goodvibes

Oh great! THANKS something else to worry about! I have NEVER thought about it!

 This has always been my feeling too. Even as a kid, I never bathed/showered in the a.m. Always before bed;)

:rotfl: No problem.

I'm sure it's probably not a big deal. I usually don't get really dirty or sweaty during the day, but there have been many times where I would have had to change the sheets in the morning if DH went to bed without a shower.

I am not a huge fan of laundry, so I would rather everyone take a shower before bed than change sheets more often. ;)
