Hello!

I am scheduled for a DP at Sago Cay on October 18th, 7-10pm. I saw my BEO and I was charged $2000 for lighting!! :sad2:

We had wanted to use existing lighting for Sago Cay, but my planner told us it is very dim and low light.

I've seen some BEOs posted for Sago Cay and none of which mention lighting on this site. How is the existing lighting? Is it really too dim? We are not decorating for our DP, but if it takes a couple candles on the tables to make it better, we'd rather do that than anywhere near $2k for DP lighting.

We had a DP in October at 7.30pm and we didn't have any extra lighting. We just had these cute gel cylinders that were sort of illuminated on the tables and it was fine. Extra lighting was never mentioned to us infact.

Wow really?

The lighting package was actually tacked onto our BEO without Any mentioning as to its price to us and what was included ahead of time. We felt like we were completely blind-sighted. We still don't know what makes it $2000!

Might I ask what your gel lighting is? And how much? Feel free to PM me!

Hello!

Is this your wedding day bbb1019? I'm getting married Oct 18th at WP and wanted Sago Cay for our dessert party but you got there first!

We've now gone for Marina Patio instead. Have you chosen what desserts you're having?? I'm having trouble deciding what we want!

I think they were around $15 each and had LED lights in them. I'll see if I can dig out a pic. I may have some in my PJ in the link below :)

We went to visit the site for our planning session and it didn't seem like lighting would be a problem.. but we visited during the day. So I guess I'll tell my planner No lighting package. We weren't planning on any table candles either.. hope that would be okay.

My Wedding is actually October 19th at the WP! We are having a welcome party on October 18th which is my DP. I actually wanted an Epcot location but there were none available, looks like other ppl got there first for me :upsidedow

We are having Alot of trouble with our DP menu. We were quoted $28.75 for 4 items:
chocolate covered bananas,
baklava,
fruit with yogurt,
pumpkin cheesecake.

In addition, Separately... $39/Half Gallon of Sweet Tea instead of Fruit Punch! I don't know about you but we thought this was Way too much. And when we got our BEO, it was different than my planner's email and our DP was then said to be $27.50pp (Sweet Tea still additional $39/Half Gallon)

So Because of that, we said, okay .... I guess we will go back to fruit punch (even though I Hate fruit punch)... and for the extra $30/pp we can get the Star Custom DP menu... and then our planner said that because that was an Epcot sample menu, the cost may not be the same!! :faint:

We are starting to get SO upset over our planning experience, miscommunication and extra costs everywhere without us being consulted first... :crazy2:

We were going to have our DP at Sago Cay but it was freezing that night so we moved it indoors to the convention center. (11/11/11) There was never any mention of lighting or anything added to my BEO about it. I would just ask them to remove it. :thumbsup2

I just had a DP on 4-20-12 at Sago Cay and lighting was never mentioned. It won't be an issue. We even had 3 very elderly people along and they didn't have any problems.

I had my DP 8pm to 9pm on December 30th 2009 so the sky was pitch black but it didn't seem dim at all, it was nice and lighting was never mentioned by my planner! Looking back at the photos it looks darker than I remember but I think it was lovely.
