Sage green

My Kitchen/hallway/dinning area is Green (sage) with a dark green counter top with medium oak cabinets. The floor is green and white. The appliances are white along with all the counter stuff (coffee maker, toaster, etc). The Dining area next to kitchen (all open) has a maroon carpet. The kitchen flooring has specks of maroon running thru it. Love the look. Love green. House is Taupe with Green Shutters, outdoor furniture is green. Shed in back matches the house. Taupe with Green trim. Garage doors - I had my husband paint the middle squares in the door green to match the shutters. Our front door is also painted green.

Our living room is Mother Nature (green), and the trim is Cotton Whisper (cream). Both are Behr colors. I don't have my best pictures of the living room online, but you can see the wall color in these, which were taken by a family member of our new kitten back in October:

We get lots of compliments on our wall color; it's very soothing.

My living room is painted a sage green color. (Can't get a picture, Mom is in there. She fell asleep watching tv.) The couch and chaise lounge are a strange fabric but they are pretty much a beige and pink/red pattern. Not my taste but they look good. There is a blue recliner but it was from the other living room set so it has a pink blanket on it to match the room. The coffee table and entertainment center are a walnut color. We have a double sided fireplace with a dark mantle with all knick knacks. On the wall is a huge beautiful mirror that really accents the room. (And it can't come down because it took 4 huge men to put it up!) I like the sage color. It is bright (we have a small living room) but it is also soothing and gives the room life.

When we bought our "new" used home, the previous owner painted the entire interior Sherwin-Williams Pale Artichoke.

Now, I'm not a green fan (I'm old enough to remember avocado from the 70's  ), but this shade has totally grown on me and I LOVE IT. Looks great with white kitchen/bath cabinets, but also works well with all our wood tones (ranging from dark oak to teak to American cherry).

I think the key is choosing a neutral "grayed" sage green, rather than a green with yellow or blue undertone. I.E., this photo isn't the best as it's shot in cool northern daylight which gives it a "blue" cast (not to mention I'm photographically challenged ;)).

OMG! Sherwin-Williams Artichoke is the color of my kitchen and under my chair rail in the dining room! It's a wonderful color and I'm glad it grew on you...it gets lots of appreciative comments from people who visit.

I totally did not even think about the green from the 70s...but I can see where that might make one shy away from green. However, oranges and browns have made a pretty substantial comeback too...especially those rustic burnt oranges, so I guess it's all just a cycle! Kitchen-wise, as long as people have updated appliances and these fancy new countertops, it's hard to imagine a kitchen looking dated merely because of it's paint color anyway.

My new house has a sage green Master bedroom. It's painted above the chair rail, and has palm tree wall paper below. I do like it. But I have no idea what the color is, since I didn't do it!

We painted our bedroom a Sage Green Color. I don't remember the name of it. BUT I LOVE IT!! It is very relaxing and it just feels calm.

I did the trim in a creamy color.

I would post a photo of my new living room but I don't know how....it's BM Kennebunkport Green, with Dove White trim. It is incredibly peaceful. Then entry hall that it flows into is Hitchcock Green if I remember correctly...a much paler green that darkens up at night.
Now, I'm trying to decide what to paint my kitchen that runs into a paneled FR. Think I'll paint the top half of the paneling since it's way too dark in there, and then bring the paint down the hallway to the kitchen.
Have to say that I love the deep green with the deep red next door. My friend did the exact same thing and it's gorgeous!!

Our kitchen is SW Clary Sage. We love it and get lots of compliments. Here's a picture (sorry, the only one I could find was before we moved in/when the house was still under construction - it's a mess):

The room behind it is the dining room and it is SW Red Bay, a deep red.

We painted are kitchen the same color. I love the color and everyone says how nice it is.
