Sagamore- what view?

We have decided to go to the Sagamore this summer. I called MS yesterday and there is availability the first week of August and all the views are available. Since the amount of points needed for the 3 night stay isn't an issue, does anyone have info on what view would be the best for my DH and myself? Our DD (20)might end up joining us on the trip so it would possibly be for 3 adults. Any ideas are welcome!

I would say you have to go with a view of the lake. I have never stayed at the Sagamore but have attended conferences there. It is a beautiful hotel. If you can get a room with a view of Lake George that would be my suggestion. Good luck!

Trip advisor did not have great reviews on this resort. Did you get a recommendation on it? Just curious. Plus the cash price is cheap.

Actually, we live in NY and just wanted to try something other than WDW. By driving to the Sagamore, we would save a lot of $$ by not having a vacation with airfare. I also have a considerable amount of points that are banked and a new set of points due on Feb. 1st. We are not sure just how to spend the points!

Just checked Trip Advisor. It seems that there are more positive reviews than negatives, so we might just take a chance on it!

If you are interested in a NY location, you can also use points at the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid. It is just gorgeous! Takes lots of points, but wow! Very nice.

If you have a lot of points, have you thought about using them on a cruise. I know a lot of people say they are not a good use of points, but for the sailing we booked, it was a decent deal and we had points to burn too. Also, you could do adventures by Disney or rci signature exchanges. Don't know much about those though.

Have stayed before on points before... get a Lake view, it is worth it if you have the extra points... are you getting a room or a "villa" type accommodation...? We had a villa, very nice... If you are going in the summer, bring lots of off, lots of mosquitos!

I was hoping for the first week in August but due to family things, we might now put off our trip till the fall. Yes, we have enough points for a Lake view.
A cruise could be another option for our use of points. Will need to look into that also! Thanks to everyone for responding!
