Safety Protocol Enforcement at Resorts

How has recent enforcement of safety rules (masks, distancing in pool loungers, restaurants) been at the Disney resorts lately? Are they enforcing like in the parks or is it more lax like Disney Springs? We are thinking of going the week after Easter (yes, the busiest time but it’s DD7s Spring Break) and doing more of just a resort stay (Don’t know which one, better decide before they all are booked!) with 1-2 park days total. We have been very COViD cautious and will not go if my higher risk DH has not been vaccinated...I know there are going to be some slip ups in some situations, but if it’s a free for all we would not be interested in that scenario. Thanks for any feed back!

What enforcement are you specifically looking for? Honestly there's not many times where you'd need to be in close quarters of others at your resort...other than elevators. We've been a cpl times since opening and never had an issue with ppl. not wearing masks in elevators We've used.

At the resort walking around we've sern some ppl not wearing masks, but only outside where social distancing was easily kept and you're only passing/around the person for a minute. At the pool it's kinda like normal times, although chairs are more spread out but obviously no masks there. Food courts ppl generally have their masks off because they're eating. At bus stops for the most part ppl had their masks on and honestly other than the values; there aren't really lines so you can try to spread yourself out some if you want.

When at the resort if you pass a cm not wearing a mask they'll probably ask you to wear one, but they're not out policing it...nor do I feel that's needed.

Yes, I was wondering if they still have loungers at the pool spaced out, people wearing masks at transportation lines. Also if the food courts have spaced out tables still.

Is it possible to walk to the Poly from the TTC to visit?
Is it possible to walk into the Contemporary to visit the California Grill lounge or the Wave lounge (i.e. no reservation)?

Yep, definitely. If on foot or via Disney transportation, there are no restrictions on resort access.

FYI, the CG Lounge is not available as they are using that space for regular tables. Limited bar seating is available (like very limited). The Wave Lounge is open as usual. Spacing there is more favorable and it’s “often” available as a walk up with no wait.

Hope that helps!

NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

It is still one hundred per cent Covid World and will be for quite a while still.

We have been to Covid World twice and have seen NO difference in attention to Covid protocols in the Resorts versus the Parks.

We felt the guests at the resorts were compliant with the rules on their own. I’d imagine most people are visiting the parks at some point during their trip and have to agree to follow the guidelines to be admitted and stay in the parks. We didn’t encounter anyone blatantly ignoring the rules at the resorts. I’m not sure if masks are required in gyms and while outside running, but we saw most people working out wearing them too. Everyone was very respectful of elevator capacities and tables & pool loungers were spaced well. Like you said, slip ups happen, I only remember coming across a couple with out masks once & when they saw us walking toward them they turned around and told each other that they’d forgotten to grab their masks.
If you want a resort that isn’t too crowded, I would look into the DVC resorts that are part of a larger resort that isn’t fully opened yet. We stayed last month at AKV (in Jambo house) and BWV, both of which are only opened on the DVC side. We found the pools to be much quieter than usual. The downside was that food options at those were more limited.
