It's killing me to pay the price of this bottle and $6 shipping - is it really necessary? We are cruising in 4 weeks. I'd love to find someone who only used a little of their bottle that I could buy off of them and save a little.

What is Sea Safe?

I've been on four cruises, and have never heard of it.

I don't know if you'd need it? ;)

We bought 2 bottles before sailing the Eastern last March and never opened them....they are sitting in my closet. Also, never saw a jelly fish during our cruise.

Hope this helps. IMHO save your money and buy yourself a couple of Konch Coolers on Castaway Cay!

I just did a quick search on yahoo.com and it sounds like it is a lotion to lessen the pain of a jellyfish sting.

I think it keeps the jelly fish and their babies (sea lice?) from getting on you.

I had never heard of sea lice before reading these boards. We have done two Eastern cruises and spend almost all of our time in St. Maarten, St. Thomas and CC both trips in the water, and we have never used any products (other than sunscreen!) and never had any problem.

I had a bad experience in Florida so I felt better to be safe than sorry. I saved the shipping costs by finding at my local scuba shop.

We've been on 3 cruises, 2 in February & the Western Magic last July. We went swimming in the ocean all 3 times & never had a problem with sea lice, jellyfish etc. ( we even went snorkeling with the stingrays at Grand Cayman). I'm not saying they don't exist, but I haven't heard of many people having a problem with it. It's like pills for seasickness, we always bring them but don't always need them. You could always uses it just in case if that made you more comfortable. Enjoy your cruise & don't worry!!! Cathie & The Gang pirate: :grouphug:

When we order out baskets from Shirley, We just have her throw a bottle in the basket -
