Safari & Kali

Can anybody tell me how far of a walk it is for an adult to walk from the Safari over to Kali? (in terms of minutes?)

We are planning to head straight over to the Safari, then thinking about either right before or after we ride (depending on the line) sending DH over to get FP's.....

Or better yet, is there an attraction board somewhere near the Safari to let you know about waits at Kali?

Here's the reason I ask....our perfect day at AK woudl be Safari first, then back to Camp MinMic for some character interaction and FOTLK, then to Dinosaur, then end the day with the Kali and head back to the hotel for some rest before our big night at CM and all the evening festivities at MK. I am just concerned from all the other posts that this park is quite large, and hot, and I don't want to wear anybody out....

that's a map of the park.

From what I remember, the fast passes for Kali are near where the "15" is on the map. The walk from Kilimanjaro to Kali might take 5 minutes for an adult walking fairly fast (or running if it were me).

When we go to Animal Kingdom we always head straight back and get FP's for the safari and then come back to the TOL and do the stuff around there until our ride time.

I'd say it's about a five minute walk (we walk fast)...no, I don't think there's a board near the safari unless they put one up recently.

Last time we were there we got a FP for KS when the park opened, then went over to Kali but it didn't open till 9:30. So we were stuck for about 15 minutes with nothing to do!

We were first timers (just got back a few days ago) and I think it would have taken us around 10 minutes to walk from Safari to Kali's (15 minutes if you want to look around).

FYI, here what we did:

Got to park around 8:30 AM (opened at 8). Went right over to the Safari and had very little wait time. Safari was great, then we headed over to Festival of the Lion King and we saw the 1st show of the morning (9:45). Noticed crowds starting to grow (we were there during Peak Easter/Spring break), so we went over to Kali's and got FPs. In the interim, we walked around Dinoland, hit some shops, visited the Tree of Life and saw Tough to Be Bug. Could hear and peak in a little to Tarzan, and it was enough that we all agreed to pass on it. When we returned to use FPs for Kali's, there were tons of people there and wait time must have been long. We walked on Kali's thanks to FPs, got soaked (so it is a good idea to do it last) and left about noon.

Oh, we were handed FPs to Flight/Birds of Wonder show by a CM as we were walking toward Lion King. I would have gone to that and even walked around AK a little after Kali's, but DD7, DS7 and DH were pretty warm. But wouldn't have stayed much past 1 unless it rained and cooled things down (or we ate at Rainforest Cafe and were reenergized).
