I just want some of your opinion

Things like Flights of Wonder and Kilimanjaro Safaris, there are similar events in Lion Safari.....do you think events in AK are much better or, more or less the same?

Thanks
TC

As Animal Kingdom is on a Disney level, really nothing else compares. On Kilimanjaro Safari you actually feel like you're in Africa on safari - done to such a huge scale and with the Disney magic touches, it is absolutely wonderful, and never the same twice. The two trails you can walk through in AK (Pangani and Maherajah) are equally amazing, and not once do you feel like you're walking through a 'zoo' looking at animals - AK is my favourite park for atmosphere alone, the details even getting from one attraction to another are amazing - Flights of Wonder is an outdoor covered theater show with amazing birds, and then as far as Disney caliber shows go, Festival of the Lion King is not to be missed, and Tough to Be a Bug is wonderful. There is a lot to be seen and appreciated at AK even though some people think it's a half-day park - I enjoy taking in every aspect of it, and depending on the ages of your family, there are many different things to enjoy here.

Not even in the same league. That is like saying Holt Renfrew and Winners both sell clothes they must be the same.

I went to African Lion Safari last year with my DS on a field trip. The "safari" is divided by chain link fences and they "rangers" drive around in pick up trucks to heard the animals closer to your car. The AK Safari is a much more organic experience. It's also "themed" with music, costumes, atmosphere, details etc.

The aviary at ALS consists of huge cages, at AK you walk amongst the birds as they fly about in a huge area with a high canopy. Completely lush and immersive.

So in other words, not even close.

I have never done the lion safari,,but I have done the Real Tanzania Safari and I can say the Disney does it great. They don't leave anything out. As one who loves the behind the scenes details, unless your looking for them you wont know how the animals stay there. The themeing and the artistic landscaping down to the termite hill brought me back to my real safari. I always go twice a day, once as soon as the park opens and one later in the afternoon. As said each ride is different and love being stopped because an elephant is crossing.:)

There really is no comparison, it's like comparing the Toronto Zoo to Canada's Wonderland (just using Canadian examples), two very different experiences as the others have posted.

I LOVE AK, and recently when I took newbie's to WDW they decided to use their last of their tickets (5 day tickets) to go back to AK a second time verses going back to MK. 1 day at each park and a second time to AK. They have 4 kids from 1yr to 7yrs and the safari was their favorite part.
