Safari Celebration Dinner over Christmas Week?

We have a Safari Celebration Dinner Grand Gathering event scheduled for December 29. The GG office said that we were to meet at 4:15 p.m. for the event, but I note that the Animal Kingdom Park hours for December 29 (and the remainder of the week between Christmas and New Years) are from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Exactly how can they take you on a private safari and provide a private dinner at Tusker House while the park is still open??? Did anyone do this experience last year during this time... how did it work?? Thanks!

The safari doesn't stay open until 8, due to sunlight issues. Even if the ride were still open, the CMs organizing the event can hold the regular line to allow all the Grand Gathering groups to board, then resume normal loading. As far as the dinner at Tusker House, most likely, they'll just close the restaurant before the rest of the park is closed.
