Safari Breakfast Buffet at AK

I think that this is one of the only places that you see Daisy Duck. The characters here are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Daisy.

I don't believe Minnie is one of the characters. She was not there when we went a month ago.

We are a family of 6, with one child, our dear 6 yr old grandson. We are trying to decide whether to go for an early breakfast-around 8:15, and then on to the Kilimanjaro Safari, or do the ride first as soon as we can get on, and eat a later breakfast.
Any thoughts?
My husband is afraid we won't all be that hungry at 8:15, and bouncing around on the Safari right afterwards may not be a good idea.:rotfl2:
I am all for eating first so we don't have to keep an eye on the clock to get back for a ressie.
I did wonder though- has anyone gone from breakfast onto the Safari? Is it so bumpy that it's a problem?
Thanks! :goodvibes

We were going to do Safari then breakfast, but the sign indicated something like a 20 minute wait so we switched to breakfast then Safari. I ate A LOT and didn't find the Safari a problem after breakfast. I don't even remember it being all that bumpy. Of course everyone has a different tolerance level...

Is Tusker House close to the Safari?? I am not familiar with the layout at AK.

If you make the earliest reservation they have and you are staying on property be sure to take the Busses or you will not get in on time.. We were there in August and sat outside the gate to the parking lot for a long time trying to figure out how to get in and calling Dining does not help they say ask the attendant and they will let you in but the Answer we got was no you must wait! So take the bus its les hassle!

We have an ADR for this Dec. and I can't wait. This will be our first time eating there and the great reviews really do help.
:cheer2:

Thnaks for the info! We will bw there early December.

Well Darn!! I just tried to change my ADR to here from Boma's on Dec. 23rd (ha - it was worth a try) and they are completely booked... Oh well - guess we will stick with Boma's... Thanks... we will have to try this next time!!!

Keep trying! It's worth it. This is far and away our favorite character meal. The food is fantastic. Yes, they have Mickey waffles. And some kind of special tropical juice blend that is SO YUMMY! The character interaction is wonderful. They have a little African instrument play-along parade time for the kids during bfast. Service has always been great.

And we have gone directly from bfast straight to EE, so I doubt doing the Safai right afterwards will be an issue.

we are staying off site- are we not going to be able to get in??? I thought you always just had to say you have an ADR and it was no problem???

All I know is they told us no we had to wait! the people at the gate were pretty rude for being Disney People. They said it didn't matter we would be waiting at the entrance of the park anyway we luckily were only a few minutes late and they still took us when we finnnaly got in but we ran from the front gate to the restauant. I don't know if this is every one or if it was a fluke morning but thier were a long line waiting to get in the parking lot.

That stinks! I definitely think that was a fluke. I know we have gotten in with an ADR number that we presented as we pulled thru the gate. But I don't blame you for being leery.
